GGPoker has continued its expansion in the world of poker by buying up Nick Vertucci’s share in the popular show Hustler Casino Live.
The owner of the biggest online poker platform around today, NSUS Group, Inc., recently purchased the right to the World Series of Poker. Now they’ve gone and jumped into the relatively new world of poker livestreams.
What can we expect? This gambling behemoth has very deep pockets and would be able to pull off all kinds of creativity if it so wished.
Nick Vertucci walked away from Hustler Casino Live in October 2024 following allegations of sexual harassment.
Ryan Feldman, co-owner since the show started, will now expand his area of responsibility, mostly towards the business side of the operation which was previously handled by Vertucci.
Feldman sounded excited as he explained GGPoker’s long-term vision for the future moving forward.
“It adds some legitimacy to our company. It kind of strengthens our company. We now have a major force in the industry behind us. It strengthens our global reach.”
He added that there was plenty of interest from the poker world in taking over Vertucci’s ownership, but only NSUS Group had the “willingness to get a deal done.”
Daniel Negreanu to Appear on Hustler Casino Live?
Already there has been talk of GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu taking part on Hustler Casino Live for the first time.
He himself sounded excited at the possibility of coming out of “retirement”.
“You rarely see me playing high-stakes poker on streams anymore, but this is going to get me out of retirement and returning to the felt, playing on the most epic cash game stream poker has ever seen. I’m ready to battle.”
Feldman says that attracting some more rarely seen names in the game is just the tip of the iceberg for what’s possible. This includes celebrities who are known to enjoy poker on occasion.
He also mentioned the possibility of creating more cash game shows around the whole WSOP festival.
The future for poker looks so much brighter with all of this new, glitzy live streaming. It can only help the game to continue to grow during a period where we haven’t been totally sure what would happen.
