What is the Galfond Challenge?
On 19th November 2019 Run It Once Owner Phil Galfond challenged the poker world to a very exting Heads-Up PLO challenge.
Phil Galfond is willing to give anyone 3:1 odds on a sidebet at $100/$200 PLO or higher over 50,000 hands.
Details of the Galfond Challenge
Here is the challenge Phil Galfond issued on Twitter:
“I’m looking for some high stakes HU action to help promote Run It Once Poker, and I’d like it to be a challenge that we can build some hype around. An open challenge to anyone who currently makes training videos for a site other than Run It Once. HU PLO, similar to the infamous Durrrr challenge: 50k hands, 3:1 on a sidebet of 10 buyins, played at 100/200+.Any competing training site coaches – please feel free to take me up on that! You’ll get preference over anyone else. (Plus you’ll get 3:1) I’d consider dropping the stakes if it helps get me some action here, but I would prefer a bigger game so we can bring in some viewers.”
Who accepted the Challenge?
Galfond showed big time guts by offering 3:1 odds on hi schallenge and it didn’t take long to find some takers.
The first players, who accepted the Galfond Challenge, were billlionaire businessmen Bill Perkins and PLO coach Fernando „JNandez“ Habegger, but they both pulled out at a later stage.
Next up was online crusher „Venividi“, who will also be the first opponent of Galfond starting on January 22nd.
The other contenders are Heads-Up PLO specialist Brandon Adams, online phenomenon „ActionFreak“ and the for many best Heads-Up player in the world Dan „Jungleman“ Cates.
