Chance Kornuth proves to be one of the toughest opponents
So far Phil Galfond has won every Challenge, but now he is down more than $220,000 to Chance Kornuth close to half time.
Chance Kornuth has surprised many as he entered the Galfond Challenge as a massive underdog, but now is more than $220,000 ahead more than third of the way.
Unfortunately, the Daniel Negreanu vs. Doug Polk Heads-Up Match is stealing all the attention as so far we are seeing an epic battle.
Phil started to take the lead early on, but then Kornuth took over and is leading for quite a while now.
Kornuth proves poker experts wrong
Many poker experts didn’t give Kornuth a Chance as Phil was very dominant in the last two challenges, but he has proven them wrong.
Kornuth had a “super fun day” on Friday, no wonder as he booked a $91,000 win to increase his lead to a whopping $344,500.
Galfond fights back and issues new challenge
However, there is still a lot of play left and Phil Galfond fought back big time in the last session winning a staggering $122,000 to decrease Chance’s lead to $221,500 after 13,500 of 35,000 hands
Phil doesn’t seem to get tired of the Galfond Challenge and why shouldn’t he as so far he won every single one and it made him a lot of money.
That’s probably the reason, why he published another big public challenges to the coaches of all poker training sites yesterday on his Twitter:
Now that I’m down around $220k to @ChancesCards while laying him $1,000,000 to $250,000 on our sidebet, are any coaches out there having 2nd thoughts about passing on the #GalfondChallenge? #JustWondering
