Football Star Neymar is having a blast at the 2022 World Series of Poker. The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been making his presence felt with appearances in both tournaments and on the cash tables.
Neymar Enjoying Himself at 2022 World Series of Poker
The Brazilian started his WSOP trip by entering Event #26: $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship but didn’t even make the Day 2 proceedings in a 92-entry field in what was his first attempt in a gold bracelet tournament.
The 30-year-old PokerStars ambassador first visited the WSOP back in 2015 to lend his support for his compatriots but didn’t play.
A year later he won a WSOP preliminary event on PokerStars but was unable to take part after being selected for the Olympic Games which clashed
Neymar Hosts Special Friends Tournament at Bally’s
After busting out of the $10K Limit Hold’em Championship, Neymar popped over to the
$10/$25 NL cash tables to see if his luck would improve.
We’re not sure if this was the biggest game running at the time but surely the money wasn’t enough to be interesting to him. Don’t forget, this is a guy rumoured to earn $700,000 per week.

Later on Monday, Neymar ran a special “Neymar & Friends” event for 16 Brazilian pros with a prize pool of $10,000 but he failed to cash.
Neymar Appointed Cultural Ambassador for PokerStars
PokerStars recently signed Neymar as a cultural ambassador to expand its outreach to a wider audience.
The Brazilian is one of the most recognisable sports stars in the world and we can see he genuinely loves poker. In fact, he even harbours ambitions of playing professionally once his football career is over.

Neymar has now become friends with his fellow PokerStars ambassadors Andre Akkari and Rafael Moraes through his role and cheekily thinks he’s ahead of them recently.
“Lately, I’m ahead of them both. The last time we played, I beat them. We play a lot when we go to Brazil and they are two guys that became my friends through poker. Every conversation we have, I learn from them. So, I’m very proud to have two giant players in the poker world being my friends and having free lessons, right?”
