Finland’s Eelis Parssinen is the new Triton Poker Monte Carlo PLO Main Event champion after taking down the $100k buy-in tournament last night for a $2,270,000 payday.
The flagship 4-card event of the Super High Roller Series stop in Monaco attracted 87 entries, which included 39 re-buys, and set the prizepool at a massive $8,700,000.
That made it the biggest field ever assembled for a $100K PLO event and fourteen players would partake of the final feast, with the min. cash worth a hefty $166,000.
When the bubble arrived, it was Dylan Weisman who fell
Weisman: A♥ 10♠ 5♦ 5♠
Ivey: 7♥ 6♣ 4♣ 3♣
Flop: 9♣ 2♣ 6♥
“I’ll take a ten or an ace,” Weisman – all-in and at risk – said as the pair discusses the hand while waiting for the hand-for-hand play to reach them. When it did…

Weisman was out without waiting for the river…

…and the remaining 14 had locked up a healthy cash.
By the time the final table was reached, Artur Martirosian and Sam Greenwood had fallen, while Jason Koon had laddered to the $184,000 payout level when he bubbled the FT.
The payjumps were now huge, three bustouts – Kronwitter, Voulgaris and Amot – quickly leaving Alex Foxen with $518,000 for his 6th place finish.
All eyes had been on Phil Ivey, of course, but the legend had done all he could with his short stack and had to settle for 5th place and $667,000 after Dvoress called his 4-bet jam…
Ivey: K♥ 6♥ 10♣ 9♣
Dvoress: A♣ Q♣ J♦ 7♥
Board: 5♦ 8♠ Q♦ 5♥ 4♠
When Winter departed in 4th, the podium trio had locked up 7-figure scores. Passienen and Dvoress are huge names in the game, Espen Myrmo less so, and he’d take third place on his maiden Triton Poker adventure.
The Norwegian fell after an excruciating tank for his tournament life, eventually unable to get away from his straight…
Parsinnen: A♦ 9♦ 8♥ 7♣
Myrmo: A♥ 7♥ 3♦ 4♠
Board: 6♣ 5♥ 3♥ 7♠ Q♦
…but taking $1,029,000 as compensation.
Heads-up wasn’t the long-drawn out affair it might have been given the stack sizes (Parssinen’s 65BBs to Dvoress’ 43BBs) as the Canadian quickly found himself short.
That led Dvoress to call off a 3-bet and pray for his tournament life…
Dvoress: Q♠ 10♠ J♥ 4♣
Parssinen: A♦ K♥ 7♦ 4♣
There would be no salvation as the board ran out…
Board: J♠ 7♣ 4♥ A♣ A♠
…and Eelis Parssinen was the 2024 Triton Poker Monte Carlo PLO Main Event champ.
