Doug Polk and Dan “Jungleman” Cates have agreed to face off in the first live streamed heads-up battle at The Lodge Poker Club. They will play $200/$400 heads-up NL Hold’em in a match that threatens to break records for viewership.

Only last week, Doug Polk put out a tweet asking for challengers for a new monthly live streamed high-stakes match at The Lodge Poker Club. Many names were mentioned, such as Bryn Kenney and Charlie Carrel, but suggestions were not needed.
Now, we are going to see what should be an epic battle. Back in the day, Tom Dwan was seen as probably the best heads-up cash player in the world but Jungleman took him to school before the match was postponed.
Doug Polk then proclaimed himself as the best in the format after beating Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky in a high-stakes match.
So, who is the best between these guys now? Hopefully we’ll get to find out in a little over three weeks.
Doug Polk: “I’m gonna fuck you up”
Polk and Jungleman were quick to kick off the verbal sparring in their interview on the Doug Polk Podcast.
Jungleman said that Polk talks a lot of shit and needs to get put in his place, to which Polk responded, “…yeah, I’m gonna fuck you up, that’s what’s gonna happen…”
“I will beat your ass at some $200/$400, heads-up NL Hold’em, $50,000 buy-in. Definitely gonna have some reloads on deck.”
Doug Polk then admitted that Jungleman had beat him before in this format, but then made an accusation of hitting and running. This is a major breach of etiquette among the high-stakes heads-up community.
Jungleman: “I’ve been dreaming about this”
Jungleman continued the verbal battle by saying he was going to give him that beatdown, adding “I’ve been dreaming about this actually.”
He continued that he’d been waiting for Polk to move to Texas so they could battle where the game began. But now it’s time to make a stand for all this shit Polk has talked.
We can’t wait to see this showdown. Two great players squaring off in what Polk says is now the 5th or 6th largest poker room in the world. The Lodge recent expanded from 60 tables up to 80 after complaint about waiting lists.
Bering it on, we say!
Think this puts us at around the 5th/6th biggest poker room in the world with 80 tables!
No more wait lists when all 60 tables are full 👍 https://t.co/HFZGNlT9n3
