Doug Polk Bashes Daniel Negreanu for His Twitter Popularity Contests
Doug Polk vs Daniel Negreanu – this is one poker feud that doesn’t want to end.
Every year, “WCGRider” Polk and “Kid Poker” Negreanu find multiple issues to beef about on the internet. It is very clear that the two poker pros do not like each other.
This time, however, Doug Polk wasn’t the only one criticizing Negreanu for what he did. As we reported earlier, Daniel Negreanu ran popularity polls on his Twitter account, pitting various figures from the poker world against each other without their consent.

Some of the polled people were his own personal friends, such as Maria Ho or Joe Stapleton.
Many people in the online poker community voiced their disapproval of Negreanu’s latest antics on Twitter. Even some well-known ones.
Danielle “dmoongirl” Andersen, Nick Schulman and Rachel Lees all called out him for these uncalled for popularity contests.
Negreanu’s long-time arch nemesis, Doug Polk also responded on Twitter immediately.
I just want to thank Daniel Negreanu for being brave enough to stand up and do the right thing, which apparently is nonstop tweeting popularity contests about your friends to 471,000 people every few hours.

However, he wasn’t done just yet. A few days later, he also uploaded a video to his YouTube channel.
Doug Polk vs Daniel Negreanu Again
Polk’s recent upload was a poker news recap, something he does frequently on his channel.
The first story was about PokerStars’ multitable limit for cash games. Even in that story, Polk threw some infamous Negreanu clips in – namely the ones where “DNegs” was defending Stars’ rake increase in October 2016.
Those comments were the genesis of this now almost 3-year-old Doug Polk vs Daniel Negreanu saga.
The latest chapter, however, came later in Polk’s new video.
Evidently, Polk wasn’t approving of Negreanu polling his audience about which poker figure they like best. Therefore he had this to say:
“At Negreanu’s most core level, the thing he cares about more than anything else is how popular he is, and how popular the people he likes are compared to the people that he doesn’t like. These polls are his way of being able to tell everyone ‘hey, look how cool and popular are us, the cool kids are! Look at those not cool kids over there!’”.
To further elucidate that point, he brought up one of Negreanu’s older tweets boasting about an obscure award his wife Amanda Leatherman got 9 years ago.
Bluff 2010 Reader’s Choice Awards. Polls were done on various aspects of poker where fans voted online.
My wifey!!!! @RadioAmanda was voted best host/hostess among a tough group!
Also @stapes was voted best announcer by the fans! pic.twitter.com/98nCsX8UpC

“Just imagine doing that. Almost 10 years after some irrelevant magazine issues awards, you tweet out to all your followers saying ‘look how popular my new wife was’. (…) Okay, cool. Why are you doing this?” – wondered Polk.
Polk then went on to ridicule Daniel Negreanu’s attitude by photoshopping him into a promotional image for the 2004 comedy about catty high school girls titled “Mean Girls”.

Daniel Negreanu has yet to respond to Polk’s new attack on him. Given the fact that he blocked him on Twitter already, it’s unlikely he ever will.
However, it seems Kid Poker found some new people to beef with on the internet. He lately talked disparagingly about Mike Matusow’s and Phil Hellmuth’s poker skills.
