Another week on poker Twitter brought another $1,000,000 Heads-Up Grudge Match offer and unsurprisingly it involved Doug Polk, this time Bryn Kenney on the other side of the spat…
Alright you dimwit, let’s go. If I’m a sheep at HUNL this should be EZ.
$500/$1000 stakes, 2 tables, 100 bb, 1m each on the side. I would fucking destroy you so lets see what excuses about the meaning of life or w/e you make up.
Also happy fathers day to all the dads out there! https://t.co/lUngM3n6UM

It all started with a series of rather bizarre ‘Father’s Day’ tweets that saw Kenney – the leading tournament money-winner of all time – spark a Twitter debate.
Most of this poker training out there are complete trash, by people who can’t even beat the games. Give me about a year and I’ll make the best content there has ever been and offer my masterclass for free. That’s a promise. Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there ❤️

Polk’s sense of humour and readiness to get involved in any argument going soon saw him in trouble after he picked up on Kenney’s dig at coaching outfits.
“You guys all suck and I’ll take your money cause I’m the best ever btw happy fathers day to all the dads you guys rock,” Polk tweeted, but Kenney mistook his parody for a claim to be poker’s GOAT and we were soon heading to poker Twitter challenge land.
Bryn Kenney jumped in feet first, responding:
“Best ever at what? Don’t think ur in the debate for best ever at any game of cards or any version… and if u wanna battle for real I’ll come play the whole wsop and crossbook 500% in every event, otherwise I’ll play the main and 250k.”
Polk, as regular readers of VIP will know, is the pretty-much undisputed king of online HUNL (HeadsUp No Limit) with his recent Grudge Match of the Century against Daniel Negreanu earning him $1.2million.
Kenney lays claim to the title of leading tournament money-winner with more than $56million in recorded cashes, including his $20,563,324 runner-up payday at the Triton Poker SHR series Charity event in 2019.
Back to Twitter, and the pair were swapping insults as well as offers to settle their beef…
I’ll bet u 1m we poll 5 successful people in life in an aptitude test of who is at a better understanding of life and living a better existence

Kenney, however, wasn’t looking to play Polk at the Upswing Poker man’s favourite game, but was more than willing to back someone else to do so.
“If Doug thinks he’s the best I’ll put someone in against him for a 1-5m$ match, he just talks the loudest but he’s a sheep.”
Other big names were enjoying the Twitter spat, Dominik Nitsche adding comments on the coaching side while Dan Smith tries to widen the battle by asking: “Would y’all play HU PLO or 8 game?”
Polk wasn’t going to be side-tracked, however, replying to Smith: “Bryn didn’t insult my 8 game. He insulted my HUNL. If he’s gonna call me a sheep he needs to put his $ where his mouth is. Lets play the game the people want to see.”
“Your a sheep bro. Im headed out but my big brother will totally kick your ass”

Of course the poker fans were loving the drama and offering their own takes on whether Polk would crush Kenney or vice-versa…
Byrn thinks he’s the poker goat because he’s won a few high rollers with relatively soft fields. Pretty well established fact that you’re a losing player at more inviting events where people don’t need to have 8-figure bankrolls.

Bankroll me. I’ll crush Polk for you.

With Kenney claiming to not have time to waste on playing Polk at his favourite game, Doug decided to remind his new enemy of another recent offer…
Did you have a lot more time free all the way back in 2 months ago? https://t.co/qKHYhlQBx5

As we reported at the time, Kenney claimed:
“I’ve been crushing the highest stakes of MTTs for 15+ years, the toughest games have been online and then live high rollers. Phil hasn’t been a real competitor since I’ve been around at high stakes.”
Phil, unlike Polk, tried not to get too involved, in fact praising Kenney: “Bryn – I have massive respect for you, I actually think you have a shot at becoming the poker GOAT (because you play all the games so well).”
It will likely be a cold day in hell before Polk does likewise, but in the meantime he has another chance to show his heads-up prowess, facing Patrik Antonius in the WPT Heads-Up Championship, having already defeated Tom Dwan in round 1.
