Doug Polk has finally relented and agreed to face Bill Perkins in yet another high-stakes heads-up match. More of the same, but unfortunately this battle won’t even have that addition of a grudge to give it that extra interest.
Ok @DougPolkVids you got me. How about 6BB/100 after WSOP? #POKER

Doug Polk Comes Out of Retirement to Play another HU Match
Bill Perkins had previously tried to get Doug Polk to agree to a 9bb/100 edge but was rebuffed. This was, in fact, before Landon Tice unknowingly came up with the same figure and gave Perkins the deal he wanted.
Perkins was lauded for his negotiating skills in agreeing such favourable terms against a weaker player than Polk, and it wasn’t long before Tice threw in the towel. Now Perkins wants more!
And he’s got it, apparently. Polk bit and reluctantly conceded that 3bb/100 would be worth his time to prepare for.
I’m not in the business of laying odds to get action. However this is a little bit of a dif situation.
I’ll lay you 3 bb/100.
I’m sure you can get a better rate on the secondary market to get your overall spot closer to 6+. https://t.co/uH9d0m0ft4

Doug Polk Says He Can Take it or Leave it
After agreeing a 3bb/100 edge for Bill Perkins, Polk told him that he was sure somebody would give him 6bb/100 on the secondary market.
He even quipped about how he’s getting married in November and sitting it out might be a better idea.
“If you can’t its all good I’m fine sitting it out. Im getting married in Nov and if I spend the honeymoon on a remote desktop pio server it might be a quick marriage.”
Doug Polk Says Bill Perkins Has Gotten Much Better as a Player
Interestingly, Doug Polk even tweeted just how much better Bill Perkins has got lately. He reiterated that he doesn’t really want to play, and will only do so if it’s worth his time. A deal laying Perkins 6bb/100 just isn’t great at this time.
No offence to anyone but if you think @bp22 post-Tice match would beat @RealKidPoker pre-Polk match ya got rocks in ya head son! One’s been a poker pro for decades (regardless of format), the other has been at Dan Bilzerian’s house and probably doesn’t realise it’s 2021 yet!!!

One poster pointed out that the victory margin against Daniel Negreanu was 12bb/100 so why not pay Perkins 6bb/100? Should we assume that Negreanu was the victim of harsh variance?
There was also a post that planted the seed of an idea about a future match: After playing Landon Tice and Doug Polk, will Perkins be good enough to take on Daniel Negreanu in this deep stacked heads-up cash game format?
That would be an amazing match, and one where the Canadian would be under massive pressure to keep his reputation intact.
