Doug Polk Happy That His Love for Poker Has Returned

Doug Polk has announced that his love for the game of poker has returned after lingering in semi-retirement for the last five years. The Upswing Poker founder is still in the 2023 WSOP Main Event and feels a stark contrast between how he felt back then and now.

Polk claims that he deliberately punted off his stack in Level 1 of the Main Event five years ago, such was his disdain for the game he had fallen out of love with.

Now though, everything has changed, and it looks like we can expect Doug Polk to be taking part in all kinds of different things to do with poker in the future.

Doug Polk Has is one of the big stacks in the WSOP Main Event

Right now, Doug Polk is cruising along nicely with a big stack as Day 3 of the 2023 WSOP Main Event ended at the bubble.

The American headed into the lunch break with almost 300K chips and was set to be on the TV table for the second half of the day. Can he maintain his push for glory? It’s looking good so far.

Other interesting news on the Doug Polk front is that a heads-up rematch against Daniel Negreanu is scheduled for August.

The pair famously clashed a couple of years ago with Polk ending up a huge winner with more than $1.2 million in profit. Now, Polk and Negreanu will fight again in Round Two of High Stakes Duel 4.
