Doug Polk Is a Perfect Fit for Match Commentator
Doug Polk has to be the best choice for commentator for this exciting match. Fresh off of winning $1.2 million in the High Stakes Feud against Daniel Negreanu, his technical skills for this format will be finely tuned.
It won’t be just be the Doug Polk who was the best heads-up cash player in the world a few years ago, it will be the version who has recently done all of the work needed to crush anyone on the planet.

Landon Tice Still Looking for Side Bets
Landon Tice is clearly feeling confident about achieving his goals. Not only has he given Bill Perkins a massive 9bb/100 head start, but he is also seeking out as much side bet action as he can get.
For those who haven’t followed the build up to this match, that 9bb/100 equates to $720,000 over the 20,000 hands scheduled. How’s that for confidence?
The 22-year-old is due to sit down and face off against his rival in only a matter of days now and we can see that he knows in himself that he’s done what is required to succeed.
In a recent blog post he wrote how he knows he isn’t at the level of a player like Doug Polk, but he would take on pretty much anyone else in the world. Heads-up cash games isn’t even his usual game!
One thing he did admit was that Bill Perkins negotiated very shrewdly to get such favourable conditions. Tice was unaware that Perkins wanted 9.75bb/100 against Doug Polk and feels he could have secured an agreement for as little as 5-6bb/100.
Joey Ingram saw the funny side of this final push for some more action, tweeting:
“Its a shame you’re backed on everything so you won’t be going broke with all this shit. I just hope people eventually realize you’re a fraud.”
We can wait for this battle to start. Although everyone knows that Perkins is a much weaker player, just how much work has he done to account for that? Could we see a massive shock come the end?
