Dong Meng has won the first WSOP gold bracelet of 2024 after taking down the illustrious Tournament of Champions.
The three-day event ran at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles as a $1 million freeroll for all WSOP bracelet and WSOP Circuit ring winners during 2023-24.
Meng banked $200,000 for his win and his second bracelet after winning GGPoker’s $1,000 Flip & Go in 2023, seeing off Hustler Casino Live reg Wesley Fei at the end.
In total, 559 players made the trek to California but not everyone was happy. Many players complained that the event should have been held in Las Vegas as part of the WSOP.
Speaking after his win, Dong Meng said:
“It means a lot. Having two bracelets, especially no-limit bracelets in a consecutive year I think is amazing. I’m not a professional player, I’m an amateur.”

Meng’s reputation at the table is increasing rapidly after what appears to be only two full years playing live tournaments.
According to his official record, he didn’t cash in a live tournament until December 2021. He then followed that up with no less than seven WSOP cashes in a circuit event and at the main series during the summer.
