Montenegro’s Dejan “DKaladjurdjevic” Kaladjurdjevic overcame a huge heads-up chip deficit last night to scoop the GGPoker Million$ title and the $1,588,544 first prize.
With 1117 entries at $10k per head, the prizepool topped out at $11,170,000, with two $1million+ prizes up top and a $200k minimum for those reaching the final table.
Among those who did just that were Russian crusher Artur Martirosian, Spanish duo Juan Pardo Dominguez and Sergio Aido, and England’s Andrew Wilson.
Wilson came into the final table with a massive chip lead, his 142 big blinds almost as much as the rest combined, a major talking point for Jeff Gross and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow commentating.
Felipe ‘LisFlower’ Boianovsky provided the first bustout, catching Israel’s APapadakis’s shortstack button steal, and next to fall was German pro Daniel “DSmiljkovic” Smiljkovic, perhaps better known to some as SmilleThHero.
All-in preflop for his last 10 bigs, Smiljkovic flopped a Broadway draw but when the board bricked, he was out in 8th spot for $260,427.

Martirosian’s hopes of yet another GGMillion$ title were dashed when his quads couldn’t find a payoff, and then Wilson’s pocket 4s won the race against his AJ offsuit.
Wilson then picked up pocket aces and was put to the test by a “kamikaze triple barrel” bluff by Ilya Anatski, the Englishman tank-calling to send the Belarus player to the rail.
Aido was then eliminated by his compatriot Dominguez, but it was a further hour before four became three, Wilson flopping a full house and leaving Dominguez to hang himself with a rivered flush.
They were soon heads-up for the title after Felipe ‘LisFlower’ Boianovsky shoved blind on blind only to find Wilson also had a strong hand…

Third place and a massive $945,966 cash for Boianovsky, leaving Wilson and Kaladjurdjevic to fight for the win. The “no-deal” rules meant there was a $350k difference between first and second, with Wilson holding a 5:1 chip lead.
That increased to a 10:1 lead before Kaladjurdjevic began to claw himself back into things, helped by what looked like a beautiful river for Wilson…
A correct hero call saw the Montenegrin in the lead for the first time and he closed it out without fuss, Wilson unable to escape from domination in the final hand…
