Final Action

When the final five sat down to play on the final day, the German was the only player without a bracelet, and in his case, he was also yet to even cash.

Santhosh Survana, a maiden bracelet winner from the WSOP 2024, was the short stack when play resumed and he lasted only a few hands before his event was over.

Danny Tang started the day with almost double the chips of his nearest rival and soon found himself with more than half of the chips in play.

The Hong Kong native expertly picked off a bluff from Dutch PLO wizard Ronald Keijzer for more than 20,000,000 chips to send his opponent out on fourth place.

But Perkusic wasn’t done just yet as he began to claw back some of the deficit with a series of solid pots against Tang.

The trend continued until the German overtook Tang after knocking out two-time bracelet winner Jim Collopy with an aces versus kings all-in confrontation.

As heads-up play started, Tang had a good run to retake the lead once again, but that soon turned around with Perkusic winning pot after pot to build a commanding lead that would never be overcome.

Tang did pick up some double ups with only a handful of big blinds but it was not enough.

Perkusic sealed the win after flopping bottom set against Tang’s top two pair, hitting a full house on the river.
