Daniel Negreanu has won his first match in four attempts at High Stakes Duel 4 against Eric Persson, who quit after Day 1, which was supposed to be a 2-Day-Event.
I enjoyed the match Eric and sorry to hear there won’t be a rematch
I guess that means… seat open for who’s next?
I believe the rules state that a challenger must step up in the next 30 days and I imagine there will be a line 😂 https://t.co/b7P4e6xlS3

First High Stakes Duel Win for Daniel Negreanu
Before High Stakes Duel 4, DNegs had lost three times in a row to the Poker Brat Phil Hellmuth.
For the first victory in his fourth attempt, Daniel Negreanu pockets the $100,000 prize and advances to Round 2.
“Relieved more than anything”
After his victory Daniel Negreanu said:
“Relieved more than anything. II just had all the hands. I had so many big hands, and he never really had much going on. He bluffed me a few times. I didn’t really do anything special. I just ran better than he did. I wasn’t worried about any sort of game theory or anything like that. “I watched some of the streams, some of his highlights, and table talk. He really does a good job of balancing. He’ll say things that you would say if you’re bluffing when he has it. He reverses it a lot.”
Eric Persson withdraws from Round 2 due to scheduling conflicts
Originally, High Stakes Duel 4 was meant to be a 2-Day-Event with two rounds. However, Eric Persson withdrew after Round 1 due to scheduling conflicts.
That means Daniel Negreanu is now waiting for a new challenger for the Round 2 rematch for $200,000.
