After losing a whopping $2,228,174 in 2023, Daniel Negreanu’s New Year Resolutions seem to bear fruit as he won the first high roller event of 2024 at the PokerGo Tour for $218,400.
Daniel Negreanu Opens 2024 with a $218,400 Victory
Daniel Negreanu opened the new year with a victory in PGT Last Chance Event #1, a $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em.
Negreanu topped the 91-entry field to win $218,400 and improve his standing on the PGT leaderboard by 218 points.
With the win, Negreanu jumped from 35th to 16th on the PGT leaderboard and is firmly in position to qualify for the season-ending PGT Championship $1,000,000 poker freeroll.
Daniel Negreanu defeated German online crusher Daniel “SmilleThHero” Smiljkovic in heads-up play, by spiking a four-outer on the river to win the event.
>Daniel Smiljkovic earned $150,150 for his Runner-Up finish. Rounding out the top three places was Japan’s Masashi Oya, cashing for $113,750.
