Does Daniel Negreanu have a chance against Heads-Up specialist Doug Polk?
There was a time, when Doug Polk was considered the best Heads-Up player in the world. That’s why the big question is: Does Daniel Negreanu stand a chance against him in his best game?
Negreanu is a tournament specialist, so he does have a decent amount of heads-up experience. However, he has never played the highest stakes online against the best players in the world as Polk did, so we believe that Doug is the clear favourite.
Phil Hellmuth and Mike Matusow bet on a victory of Daniel Negreanu!
There are others though, who are convinced that Daniel will win the Grudge Match. Mike Matusow for example has bet half of his bankroll on a victory of DNegs.
And he is not the only one as Phil Hellmuth took the 4 to 1 offer from Polk for $20,000, which means if Negreanu wins then Hellmuth will get $80,000 from Polk, while only having to pay $20,000 in case he loses.
Daniel Negreanu sees himself as the underdog but wants to put on a great show
Daniel sees himself as the underdog, but promised multiple times to “put on a great show”. His strategy seems to be to downplay his chances before the match hoping that Doug underestimates him:
