The New Year has kicked with a Twitter fight, where Daniel Negreanu is offering Tim Reilly $10,000 if he takes a lie detector test to prove he is vaccinated against Covid-19.
Negreanu, who thinks Reilly is among those who used fake vaccination cards to play the WSOP described the offer as a “freeroll”…
I’ll go on record for funsies:
Free $10,000 if @TimReillyPoker can pass a lie detector test that he actually got the vaccine rather than use a fake vax card to play the WSOP
No strings attached.
$10,000 free money.
I’m not worried… pic.twitter.com/ufVXOANI48

The ongoing feud was kicked off by serial “Twitter drama guy”, as Negreanu described him, Nicky Palma, who has been a regular on our VIP pages for a long time and recently called Kristen Bicknell a “dumb bitch”.
This time it was Bicknell’s fellow anti-vaxxer, Tim Reilly, in Palma’s sights…
Tim reilly wakes up today and says a joke about vaccines. U people need to drag this fucking clown. Guy literally broke the law when the rest of us actually went out and got the vaccine whether we wanted to or not. The hypocrisy is amazing…. drag this piece of shit

That started an avalanche of “did he, didn’t he” claims and counterclaims – the basics being that several players allegedly paid a CVS employee to register them as vaccinated on the system, and give them cards saying so, but without having to have the actual jab.
Alex Jacobs, the poker player who found fame and fortune in the TV quiz show ‘Jeopardy’ was next to cross swords with Reilly on Twitter…
So @TimReillyPoker sent me a video of him pulling out his vax card. The date on it is 9/12/21, which doesn’t seem to make sense w/ his thread from 10/7/21 about not being able to play bc he’s not vaxed. Either that thread is one big lie or the card is fake https://t.co/hJmQNCNHEW

What followed was a stream of tweets from Jacob pointing out the unlikelihood of Reilly actually having been vaccinated in time for playing the WSOP.
In response, Reilly threatened Jacob with legal action for “harassment” and things went from bad to worse – personal insults included – and then Alex Foxen entered thew debate.
Foxen, along with his fiancé Bicknell, has been one of the most outspoken opponents of the WSOP’s 2021 ‘vaccine to play mandate’ and claimed he would have broken the federal law against faking vaxx cards to play if he had needed to…
Disagree. I didn’t play because of it but if i needed to financially I would have faked it as well. It is your duty to disobey unjust laws.

By this point it was becoming all but impossible to keep track of who said what and when and how accurate, honest or important that thing was.
Negreanu took to the DATPoker podcast to discuss the issue, with Alex Jacob breaking it into bite-sized chunks for general consumption…
Great summary of the recent controversy involving potentially fraudulent vax cards used for entry into the 2021 @WSOP by @RealKidPoker and the #DATPokerPod, with an assist by yours truly (1/4) pic.twitter.com/JgLLeV5Z0w

With Reilly refusing to take DNegs up on his offer, and instead offering $10k MMA fights in Vegas against his detractors, Veronika Brill – aka “Angry_Polak” on Twitter – stirred up a new war of words…
Happy new year everyone!
My resolution is to stay sexy and to find someone who loves and defends me as much as Tim Reilly loves and defends his fake vax card pic.twitter.com/SlXIdkOn4X— Veronica Brill (@Angry_Polak) December 31, 2021
With Reilly negatively commenting on Brill’s looks, he seemed to be losing yet another argument as Brill revealed she was seemingly attractive enough at some point for Reilly to have asked her on a second date.
Which pretty much brings us up-to-date with the first Twitter war of 2022 – quite possibly a sign that this year isn’t likely to be any more friendly on poker Twitter than the previous year.
Amusement, embarrassment, lies, drama, probably some more lies and car-crash viewing for the poker community, and the year is only three days old!
