Daniel Negreanu ragged on re-buy tournaments a lot in 2019.
He even vowed to never re-buy in a tournament the next year. However, he recently walked back on that promise.

The visibly excited Daniel Negreanu announced the introduction of the GG Masters in a video on his Facebook page.
In it, he calls the new weekly MTT “no re-entries, one bullet – real poker like it used to be”. He goes on to further stress this point, saying:
“For all of y’all in poker who’d been talking about how you can’t stand re-entry; and all these guys get to buy in 5-6 times and you only get one bullet: even level playing field for all! Reasonably priced at $150 bucks.”
However, the no re-buy policy is hardly the most exciting feature of this new promotion by GG Poker.
Throughout the year, they’ll be keeping score of all players competing in the GG Masters in an annual leaderboard. At the end of the year, the best performing player is rewarded with a GGPoker ambassadorship worth up to $500,000!
That is quite remarkable of a first prize for an online MTT leaderboard. It’s not just the money, which is way higher than the usual – it’s also the recognition.
The 2nd-10th place finishers will also be rewarded, they’ll get free tickets to the 2021 GG Masters.
The inaugural GG Masters starts running this Sunday at 5 PM GMT (6 PM CET) on GGPoker. The tourney will start the same time every Sunday until further notice.
Players start with 10,000-chip stacks at 25/50 blind levels (200 BB’s) and a 5-chip ante. The blinds increase every 12 minutes. Late registration will be available until up to 3 hours past the tournament start.
$15 satellites to the GG Masters will also be running on the site every week.
This ambitious project is likely an attempt by GGPoker to rival, or even emulate PokerStars’ famous Sunday MILLION tournaments.
