Daniel Negreanu Fires Shots Back at Justin Bonomo Calling Him a Cheater

Daniel Negreanu has fired back at Justin Bonomo after he heavily criticised the Canadian for his tantrum after busting out of the 2022 WSOP $250,000 Super High Roller event.

Daniel Negreanu Fires Shots Back at Justin Bonomo Calling Him a Cheater

Calling him “Wacko Bonomo,” Daniel Negreanu described the American as “totally indoctrinated and a lost cause” for his constant pandering to the feminist and progressive sector of society.

For those who missed it, Negreanu suffered a horrific bad beat to get knocked out of the $250K event after an all-in with pocket tens against David Peters who held QTs.

The board ran out a flush for Peters sending Negreanu into a rage, slamming his vlogging equipment into the table and scattering his chips. He then picked up his tripod and threw it into a wall.

Bonomo’s position was that Negreanu was out of order because it was a violent act that will make people feel unsafe and uncomfortable.

It’s a bit cringey to see that Justin Bonomo went to the trouble of running several polls to find out what the poker community felt about Negreanu’s actions and was probably disappointed to see that not many were bothered.

One poll questioned if this kind of behaviour would make them feel “viscerally unsafe” at the table, divided into male and female responders. Retired British pro Liv Boeree took umbrage at this and gave Bonomo a piece of her mind.

She added:

This kind of vapid threat inflation is so infantilising and regressive to the perception of women in poker it truly blows my mind you can’t see it – not to mention the many legit transgressions to women (in poker and elsewhere) that this crying wolf then diminishes”

Daniel Negreanu Calls Justin Bonomo a Cheater

Justin Bonomo was probably considering laying low during the recent high-stakes cheating scandal as he has his own chequered past that many won’t remember.

Back in 2006, Bonomo was banned from PokerStars for multi-accounting, a cardinal sin at high stakes. He eventually was allowed back into the fold after admitting guilt and apologising.

In his 2022 WSOP vlog, Negreanu took great delight in reminding everybody exactly what Bonomo did.

“This guy Bonomo, who is Justin Bonomo? Justin Bonomo was and forever will be a man who cheated at this game we love, poker. Cheated. Flat out cheated. Since then, he’s acted as a moral authority on all things good for poker.”

“I’ve spent most of my life promoting the game of poker to bring in thousands of people so that this f*****g weasel can sit on his couch and make a living,”

Refreshingly, Daniel Negreanu admitted in his latest vlog that he acted “like a child,” taking responsibility for his actions but was particularly offended at Bonomo trying to make this an issue about sexism.
