Jared Bleznick is still on course to scoop back-to-back PLO Super High Roller Bowl titles but for Daniel Negreanu it was a costly ‘two bullets and out’ on day one…
The $100k buy-in, 4-card version of the SHRB – presented by Vision GTO Trainer at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas – is the biggest PLO tournament on the calendar.
As such, it attracted a who’s who of the game, Negreanu joined by Jason Koon, Alex Foxen, Ike Haxton, Joni Jouhkimainen and Ben Tollerene among others, with Bleznick looking to defend the inaugural title he won last year.

It proved to be a tough day at the tables for some of the world’s best, Negreanu firing off two bullets, the second of which saw him fall to Koon…

Foxen was another to fall on day one, as did Nick Schulman and Jesse Lonis, whose flopped pair of kings were no good against Artem Maksimov’s flopped set of kings.
$1.5million up top
By late registration on day two, there were 42 entries, four up on last year’s numbers, and that meant a healthy prizepool for whoever makes it to the top seven spots…

Bleznick leads at midway point
At the time of writing, only 13 players remain in the hunt for the prestigious title, Haxton, Jouhkimainen and Koon bringing up the rear of the chip counts while Bleznick (who fired two bullets) blazes a trail at the top, followed by Maksimov.
