Daniel Negreanu was back on the ‘alien abduction‘-theme on Twitter today, claiming a friend was found naked in the middle of the desert after a visit from the little green men…
I had a friend who was abducted by an aliens.
He is not crazy.
He does not do drugs.
He doesn’t talk about it for fear of being mocked.
Was found naked in the middle of the desert.

That fear of being mocked was passed on to Negreanu it seems, the majority of replies expressing the view that aliens were the least likely cause of his friend’s desert adventure…

The English poker pro has plenty of previous for ‘life changing experiences in the desert of Nevada’, though it was dinosaurs rather than aliens she encountered back in 2015…
In fact, Liv Boeree is one of the few commenting on Negreanu’s tweet who can be considered an expert of sorts in the field of other-worldly experiences.
Boeree has a First Class Honours degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Manchester, and is often asked to discuss the likelihood of there being alien life out there.
She appeared on the Sean Carroll’s ‘PreposterousUniverse’ Mindscape podcast last summer to discuss ‘Poker, Aliens and Thinking in Probabilities’.
Boeree gave her views on Fermi’s Paradox – ‘the contradiction between the size and age of the universe and the lack of observed alien life’, as well as the Drake Equation.
That last one says, according to Liv, that ‘we are somewhere around 75% to be the only intelligent civilization within the galaxy, and somewhere around a coin flip, about 50-50, to be the only intelligent civilization in the entire observable universe’.
Not that this would perturb Negreanu in any way, Kid Poker already noted for his predilection for alien ‘they walk among us’ theories, as in this tweet last year…

Negreanu followed up that tweet by stating: ‘There is plenty of evidence, government documents and sightings. They are already here. Watch Unacknowledged. You will see.’
It seems that Negreanu was reminded of his friend’s ‘abduction’ after this week’s Joe Rogan podcast with Edward Snowden…

…although NSA whistleblower Snowden wrote in his book: “For the record, as far as I could tell, aliens have never contacted Earth, or at least they haven’t contacted U.S. intelligence”.
So far no poker players have themselves claimed to have been visited by our inter-planetary cousins, but if they ever are then Negreanu and Boeree apparently get first refusal for a naked trip to the desert.
