Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates needles Dan Bilzerian on Twitter

It was a ‘Battle of two Dans’ on Twitter this week when Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates and Dan ‘Blitz’ Bilzerian traded blows over who has won more at the poker tables – the self-styled King of Instagram claiming his highstakes winnings dwarf his illustrious adversary!

As you can see, it all started innocently enough, but the off-the-cuff burn from highstakes crusher Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates evidently rubbed Dan Bilzerian up the wrong way.

Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates poker resume is legendary, his live earnings – including 2 WPT titles and an EPT crown – topping the $6million mark.

His online play is even more impressive, however, with his Jungleman12 Full Tilt account sitting 3rd in the all-time cash game winners list – more than $10million lifetime profit.

His w00ki3z moniker on PokerStars adds another $1million to that, and in live cash games he’s one of the most feared players in the world, though winnings are naturally harder to put a figure on.

All this, of course, from humble poker beginnings working his way up from $0.25/0.50 and going bust several times before finally breaking through to the highest stakes and becoming a contender for GOAT.

Bilzerian, on the other hand, was born with a rather dirty silver spoon in his mouth, as others were quick to point out as the Twitter spat raged…

His father, Paul, jailed for securities law violations among other charges, Dan Bilzerian’s fortune has long been the focus of suspicion…

…but ‘Blitz’ himself claims that the reputed $100million fortune he uses to live his playboy lifestyle was won at poker.

That unconfirmed nosebleed cash game led to a $10.8million win – according to Bilzerian – and the following year he claimed to be more than $50million up for the year playing poker – an incredible claim that not everyone is willing to believe.

Doug Polk even decided to pick apart Bilzerian’s online play to see just how likely he was to be a winner at any level…

There’s no denying that Bilzerian‘s home games are among the richest in the world, even if the names of fellow $multi-million, and even $billionaire businessmen don’t get made public, although actor Kevin Hart wasn’t so lucky…

One of his mega-rich opponent’s allegedly bets in “cars or planes” rather than actual money or chips according to Dan, with a Mercedes equalling a $100k bet, betting a Ferrari amounting to a $300k bet and a ‘Bugatti bet’ worth $1million!

Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates ends the feud

As the master of self-promotion, Bilzerian claims he “doesn’t play against professionals anymore”, although when he did there was no real sign of him posting winning pics to his 26.3million Instagram or 1.51million Twitter followers.

Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates isn’t generally one to keep feuds going for long – even saying nice things about Tom ‘Dwan’ despite their ongoing ‘durrrr’ Challenge fiasco. No surprise then that he backed down from the Bilzerian beef with a self-deprecating tweet…

Poker players and fans, of course, know who the real crusher at the tables is…
