Dan Bilzerian Appears on the Doug Polk Podcast – Reveals $350,000,000 Tax Bill from Nosebleed Games

Dan Bilzerian has appeared on a couple of podcasts, revealing some more insight into his rise to super-rich status. The Instagram star appeared on the Doug Polk and More Plates More Dates Podcast, where he revealed an insane $350,000,000 tax bill from high stakes poker games.

Many of Dan Bilzerian’s appearances in the past have rehashed what has been said many times before, but these two interviews show a different side to the man many love to hate.

The More Plates More Dates interview took a different angle than usual, being mostly about girls and bodybuilding, particularly about performance enhancing drugs.

But there was a section dedicated to the story of how Bilzerian made all his money, and the pair delve into the murky world of private high-stakes games.

There were a couple of interesting revelations here, the first being about a clash between billionaires.

Alec Gores cleaned up Andy Beal to the tune of $700 million, which he promptly wire-transferred to Gores Californian bank account. Sounds reasonable.

But as soon as the money landed it became subject to a 50% tax, costing Alec Gores an eye-watering $350 million.

The discussion then moved onto how private high-stakes poker games are now using cryptocurrency to avoid such expensive transactions in the future.

Where Did Dan Bilzerian’s Money Come from?

In the Doug Polk interview, we see a much different tone, a lot less jovial.

Here Polk and Bilzerian clearly have a lot of issues to clear up after the pair repeatedly clashed on social media over the last few years.

Almost immediately Dan Bilzerian accuses Doug Polk of editing his videos to misrepresent his poker story.

And then we get to hear many more details that the poker community hasn’t heard before.

Bilzerian explains how he won $70 million from only three players, using a mix of swapping action and staking.

He says Andrew Robl coached him for 5% of his action, and between Andy Beal, Rick Salomon, and a guy called Sam, Bilzerian won more money from poker than almost anybody else in the history of the game.

Bilzerian reiterates that he is happy to show Polk the paperwork from the trust fund that only amounted to $2 million anyway. He also claims not to have cashed it in until 2019, after he paid cash for his private jet.

The story then moved onto how Dan Bilzerian got into poker and, again, the story is something we aren’t familiar with.

He talks about winning $400,000 in a single month on Bodog back in around 2006, and of regularly playing in live games with the likes of Andrew Robl, Antonio Esfandiari.

One of his regular haunts was the $10/$20 cash game in the Bellagio, showing that he has done the normal grind like many before him. It wasn’t straight into nosebleed games back then.

The interview is well worth checking out, especially for the review of his signing for rakeback
