Chess and upcoming poker superstar Alexandra Botez has busted on Day 4 of the WSOP Main Event after a brutal bad beat that came out of nowhere. The Canadian was flying along with a cash in her first Main Event but suddenly it was all over.

The 2023 WSOP Main Event bustout hand was Alexandra Botez getting her Pocket Kings all-in again an offsuit king-jack preflop.
The ace-high flop had Botez at more than 98% to win but a queen and ten coming on the turn and river ended her tournament.
$17,500 and almost cracking the top 1,000 finishers was a fantastic performance. The consolation messages from Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and Joey Ingram probably helped to take the stong out of the rough finish.
Botez has come alive as a poker player during 2023. She made her first live poker tournament cash at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in a $3,300 deep stack event.
This great result was then followed up with a win in a $550 Hyper Turbo Freezeout. There’s no doubt plenty more talent to be showcased.
Speaking earlier this year, Alexandra Botez said:
“I know I’m less experienced than most of the people here. I think my coach said I’m like bottom 15% — at least! — which is you know, totally okay. I’m just gonna go and do my best, try to learn and pay attention while I’m at the table. I’m going to be vlogging and creating content while I’m there because after all, that’s my job. But if I do my job well and I enjoy the experience. That’s all I can ask for.”
