Cash of the Titans II Sees Sean Perry Forfeit the Shirt Off His Back

Day 2 of the latest edition of PokerGO’s Cash of the Titans II saw Sean Perry once again end the session as the biggest winner.

Perry collected the $75,000 bonus payout on Day 1 and was going strong in his quest to repeat his success but there is an even bigger prize awaiting  the winner of the Day 3 session — $200,000.

With this in mind, Perry was determined not to go all out, rather allowing himself some breathing space to maintain his lead.

As you might expect, though, this microstrategy from Perry didn’t always play out that way in every pot.

Justin Young opened with a $1,200 straddle right after the seats were redrawn and the blinds increased.

Stanley Choi raised it up to $4,000 with 7♦ 7♣ and Perry followed along with 9♦ 9♣

Young then decided he had good enough odds to close the action by calling with 8♦ 3♦

The flop came down 6♠ 4♣ 8♥ and Choi fired out a bet of $6,000 with top pair and a weak gutshot. Perry called and then Young shocked everyone by jamming a whopping $60,300 with top pair no kicker.

Choi pitched a timebank chip into the middle and went into the tank for a few minutes before deciding he wanted no further part of the hand.

At this point, Perry started to get chatty, hoping for a glimpse of something that would help him make his decision.

He started casually enough, talking about how the $200,000 bonus for Day 3 makes strategy interesting.

And before we know it, commentator Brent Hanks declares that a “shirt off” bet has been made as well.

Perry moved his chips across the betting line and declared he was calling, making it $141,000 in the middle.

Perry then asked to confirm that if he won he had to run around the studio with his top off. Young responded in the affirmative.

Hanks quipped in the commentary booth:

“For the sake of all of our eyes at home, please hit an 8 or 3, Justin.”

The turn was the 5♣, causing Choi to lash out in frustration, as he would have hit his gutshot straight draw.

And the river was the A♣, leaving Young reaching for his one $100,000 add-on permitted under the rules.

Perry then whipped off his jumper and t-shirt and proceeded to jog laps around the table.
