The third of six ‘Last Chance’ $10k buy-in tournaments to bag a seat at the $1million freeroll Championship next week pulled in another huge field.

The record-equaling 119 players included Jonathan Little, Alex and Kristen Foxen, David Peters and Stephen Chidwick, though none of these illustrious names would make it to the paid spots.

Those who did included Nick Schulman, who won the series opener just a few days ago, and Joe Serock, runner up to Shannon Shorr in event #2.

The final table of seven had a free day on Sunday to ponder how best to grab a bigger chunk of the $,1,190,000 prizepool, Keith Lehr in pole position as chip leader.

Short Stack Survival

When play resumed tonight at the PokerGO Studios in the Aria, Wilson was the short stack and his tournament life hung in the balance when Lehr shoved blind on blind…

Lehr: 10♥ 5♠

Wilson: 4♣ 2♣

Flop: Q♣ 7♣ 3♣

A flop that Wilson will remember as long as he lives!

Turn: A♠

River: 6♠

It was David Chen who would fall first, and he was followed to the rail by Darren Elias, his A♠ K♥ failing to catch Wilson’s 2♠ 2♥ in a race to the death.

Linde and Soverel both fell, leaving just the podium spots up for grabs, Lehr, Tice and Wilson also looking to settle the destination of more than $600k.

Waking up to a Monster

With the blinds becoming  painful, Lehr spotted an opportunity to shove from the button, but unfortunately it was ill-timed, Tice waking up with a monster…

Lehr: 9♦ 9♣

Tice: K♥ K♦

Flop: A♣ Q♣ 3♠

Turn: jh:

River: 7♠

Mirror, Mirror…

Tice and Wilson swapped the chip lead once, the latter’s pocket treys holding up against big slick to recover top spot. When all the chips went in next it was almost a mirror image of that hand and the race for the title was on, this time Tice at risk…

Tice: 3♠ 3♥

Wilson: J♠ 10♣

Flop: A♣ J♥ 9♥

Turn: kd:

River: A♠

…and that’s all she wrote, Brandon Wilson bagging his maiden PGT title and dragging himself into 100th spot on the PGT Leaderboard.
