Bill Perkins about to cover legal expenses
Bill Perkins has thrust himself deep into the Postlegate scandal. The highstakes amateur player stepped in to help fund a defense against Mike Postle’s $330million defamation lawsuit.
Perkins also stated of Postle: “I believe he cheated, I believe he had a hack of the live broadcast and help from inside.”
I believe he cheated, I believe he had a hack of the live broadcast and help from inside. I belive phone messages which the carrier keeps will be consistent with those beliefs. Come at me!

News that alleged cheat Mike Postle had launched a huge lawsuit broke this week, targeting many of his opponents in the long-running livestream cheating affair.
Veronica Brill was named first as a defendant, and she was joined on that list by Daniel Negreanu, Doug Polk, ESPN, and many others – Brill’s GoFundMe appeal detailing the most recent twist in the saga…
Hello Poker Community.
I have set up a gofundme to help cover my legal expenses.https://t.co/bX0VVfsSLz
If i raise enough i will consider taking on this law suit.
Any excessive money raised i will be donated towards @highhands89 's van
Help if you can, i very much appreciate it— Veronica Brill (@Angry_Polak) October 3, 2020
With a bare minimum of $20k required to even consider defending the lawsuit, the poker community was soon on the case – that target reached in less than 24 hours.
Along the way, Bill Perkins made an incredible offer to help out…

Perkins was quite clear as to why he was contributing to Brill’s fund. He explains in a series of tweets: “I so wish I was the one being sued. Would have a discovery field day, casino, phones, metadata the whole nine plus more..”
Perkins vs Postle
He continued: “I believe he cheated, I believe he had a hack of the live broadcast and help from inside. I believe phone messages which the carrier keeps will be consistent with those beliefs. Come at me!”
Postle, in his lawsuit, revealed for the first time what he claims to have been doing with his phone during the Stones Live Poker sessions he is accused of cheating.
Unintentional humor from Postle libel lawsuit: In addition to monitoring sports events, the suit states, "Plaintiff [Postle] began placing his phone between his legs when he started receiving inappropriate messages or pictures from women he was frequenting with at the time."

His eyes were set on his own crotch so often that it even spawned the phrases ‘Crotchgate’ and ‘Crotch Theory Optimal’ (CTO) while it is claimed Postle sometimes used technology hidden in his baseball cap.
The final cost of defending such a lawsuit, however, could well be over $50k per defendant. Brill explained that the initial cost of $20k would only be for an anti-SLAPP defense.
According to medialaw.org, ‘Anti-SLAPP laws are designed to provide for early dismissal of meritless lawsuits filed against people for the exercise of First Amendment rights.
‘The acronym ‘SLAPP’ stands for ‘Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation’ – a phrase coined by two law school professors in the late 1980s.’
Bill Perkins is a multi-millionaire, poker-loving character who made his money in hedge fund management.
He is well-known in the poker community, playing many Super High Rollers. Moreover, he is also the man behind The Thirst Lounge poker content streaming team and some incredible prop bets with poker pros.
The Postle Lawsuit
For many of those named by Postle in his lawsuit, finding defense funds isn’t likely to be a problem. ESPN especially, with Negreanu and highstakes sports bettor/poker player Haralabos Voulgaris both extremely wealthy men.
ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt covered the Postle case on his SportsCenter ‘Next Big Thing’ slot.
DougPolk’sUpswing Poker, Phil Galfond’sRunItOnceand iBus Media’s PokerNews were also among those targeted by Postle for their extra-deep pockets.
Podcaster Joey Ingram, Bart Hanson’s CrushLivePoker, poker pro, coach and author Jonathan Little, and Poker Fraud Alert guru Todd Witteles round out the named defendants. It was Witteles who broke the initial lawsuit news…
This will be drowned out by the Trump news, but Mike Postle is suing me, @Angry_Polak, @ESPN, @Pokernews, @PhilGalfond, @haralabob, @BartHanson, @RealKidPoker, @JonathanLittle, @Joeingram1, and @DougPolkVids for defamation.
Suit is obviously frivolous and I will fight it. pic.twitter.com/JiZANp3mWH

Perkins’ offer of financial assistance has so far only related to Brill’s fund. The Postlegate whistleblower explained: “I know how much the anti-slapp is going to cost but I have to find out on Monday what the entire lawsuit would cost if I accepted the trial by jury.”
Postle’s lawsuit also has space for ‘Does 1 to 1000’ if they decide to add other named defendants they believe culpable of libel, slander, or any of the other five civil charges leveled.
Support for those accused by Postle included plans for fundraisers to finance defenses, Brad Wilson with the idea of a virtual coaching summit…
If there are any poker coaches who are NOT getting sued…
Would you be interested in participating in a virtual summit to raise funds for the Postle legal defense?
I'm thinking 5 coaches/5 webinars ~$99 with all $ given to Veronica & anybody else getting sued & wants help.

How much it all meant to Brill was summed up when she tweeted: “Guys I’m seriously overwhelmed and so grateful for your contributions. I’m literally in tears over here.”
As for Bill Perkins, with his recent statements, he may now become one of the ‘1000 John Does’ added to Postle’s lawsuit.
Unlike some of the others, though, he clearly has the wherewithal and desire for a good old-fashioned courtroom brawl. That could prove to be Postle’s final undoing.
