With the possibility that 5 test-passing poker players could land themselves a $200k backing deal each for ‘only’ hitting 85%, there were a remarkable number of replies to Bill’s tweet – considering there were no details at all!
Chris Moneymaker and Rob Yong were quick to offer their services, though neither should really need the deal that’s tagged on to it, and Bill promised the enigmatic test would “blow your mind”…

Poker tests to gauge a player’s skill have a long history, of course, though few if any have managed to exactly replicate the problems faced in a real game.

His tl;dr is perhaps a surprise revelation for many who hear the words GTO.“…exploiting happens less often than anyone thinks. 99% of your decisions are theory-based. And even for that last 1%: having a better understanding of GTO helps”.
There were several comments likening the proposed new test to the training techniques employed by Nitsche in his DTO Poker Trainer app. That involves players playing and learning from a 20 million-scenario database.
Perkins does not provide any further details yet
Perkins refused to be drawn on details of the ‘test’. However, he did respond by admitting it would give a score similar in nature to the Elo system used in chess…
…although as New York poker pro Olivier Busquet quickly pointed out, a chess Elo rating is based on practical play, not test conditions.
