  • Jennifer Tilly
  • Xuan Liu
  • Garrett Adelstein
  • Doyle Brunson
  • Patrik Antonius
  • Kim “LetsGiveItASpin” Hultman
  • Krish

Trips vs. Overpair – Garrett Adelstein vs. Jennifer Tilly: $234,000 Pot

Jennifer Tilly stands out for her very aggressive play and driving the action in High Stakes Poker Season 9 and was just delivering a brutal bad for Xuan Liu.

And Tilly continued with her unheard aggression in Episode 5 playing several six-figure pots. In the first one she straddles to $800 and Garrett Adelstein raises from the button with {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to $2,500 and Jennifer just calls out of position with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Pot Size: $6,000

The flop comes {9-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}, which is an absolute dream for Garrett as he flops Trips, while Tilly has an overpair. Jennifer checks, Adelstein makes a $2,000 cbet and Tilly check-raises to $6,000 and Adelstein calls. Pot Size: $18,000

On the {8-Diamonds} turn it does get even better for Garrett Adelstein as he fills up. Jennifer checks again and Garrett fires a rather smallish $8,000 second barrel. Tilly check-calls. Pot Size: $34,000

The {4-Hearts} on the river is a blank and now Jennifer leads out for $15,000. Garrett makes a very large raise to $100,000 (6.7x pot) and after tanking for a few seconds she calls it off, just to get shown a full house by Garrett, who collects a nice $234,000 pot.

Another big bluff gone wrong – Jennifer Tilly vs. Krish: $257,300 Pot

Cash game fans know Krish Menon from Hustler Casino Live, where he is a regular and known for his questionable plays.

Before the start of the hand, he is already stuck a bunch after getting caught bluffing by Garrett Adelstein in Episode 4.

However, he gave it another try. After a straddle, Jennifer Tilly raises to $2,500 with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}  and Krish called with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Xuan Liu picks up {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} on the button and makes it $11,000 to go. Both Jennifer and Krish call. Pot Size: $36,100

The flop of  {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}  comes perfect for Tilly giving her Top Pair Top Kicker. Liu checks, Jennifer makes a $15,000 continuation bet (42% pot) and, when the action comes to Krish, he surprisingly announces All-in for $110,000 with ten-high!

Xuan quickly gets out of the way, but Jennifer can’t fold here and makes the call. There is a whopping $257,300 in the pot and Krish needs runner-runner!

They are running it twice and here is the outcome:

Bottom Set vs. Top Pair  – Kim Hultman vs. Jennifer Tilly: $367,200 Pot

Episode 5 also brought the biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 9 so far worth a staggering $367,200.

Tom Dwan limps with {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Tilly raises from middle position to $3,000 with {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, Kim Hultman calls with {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} on the button as does Dwan. Pot Size: $10,000

The flop of {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} is spicy as it gives Hultman a well-disguised bottom set, while the overly-aggressive Jennifer Tilly flops top pair. Tom checks, Jennifer bets half pot and Kim makes it $17,000 to go. Dwan folds, but Jennifer raises to $50,000, Hultman calls. And just like that there is $110,000 in the middle.

The {4-Hearts} on the turn gives Jennifer a flush draw, but also brings in the front flush, so she checks. Kim has to protect his hand and bets $50,000 with only $78,600 behind. Jennifer makes the call! Pot Size: $210,000

The {j-Spades} on the river is a disaster for Tilly as she improves to Top Two Pair. She checks and Kim Hultman announces All-In, followed by a “Oh Dear” by Jennifer.

Tilly can only beat AK or a bluff at this stage, however she does get pot odds of 5.7 to 1, so she can’t fold Top Two here.  Jennifer makes the crying call and Kim of Hultman wins the largest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 9 worth $367,200.
