Full Lineup of High Stakes Poker Season 8 Episode 13
There were no changes regarding the lineup compared to High Stakes Poker Season 8 Episode 12, and we continue with the same players, who are as follows:
- Tom Dwan
- Phil Hellmuth
- Doug Polk
- Bryn Kenney
- Brandon Steven
- James Bord
- John Andress
- Jake Daniels
Brandon Steven makes a move at the wrong time vs. Tom Dwan: $358,500 Pot
Brandon Steven raises from UTG+1 to $2,400 with K♠4♠ and Tom Dwan calls from the cut-off holding 9♦5♦ as does Bryn Kenney from the big blind with 10♥7♠. Pot Size: $8,400
3-way to a flop of A♦5♣4♦. Bryn checks, Brandon makes a rather large continuation bet of $5,000 with bottom pair and Tom Dwan raises to $18,000 having flopped big with middle pair plus flush draw.
Kenney folds, but Brandon decided to take one off. Pot Size: $44,400
9♣ on the turn is a great card for Dwan as it makes him Two Pair in addition to the flush draw. Steven checks and “durrrr” chooses a large second barrel sizing of a little bit more than 2/3 pot.
Looks like an easy fold for Brandon, but instead he asks Dwan for a count, before check-raising to $87,000. This looks really strong and Tom Dwan has to decide, if Brandon has him beat. He goes into the tank for a whole minute and then announces: “All-in”.
Brandon Steven replies: “You guys are impossible to bluff” before mucking his hand and Tom Dwan collects a huge $358,500 Pot.
Flush over Flush – Tom Dwan vs. Rick Salomon: $320,500 Pot
Rick Salomon straddles to $1,600 and James Bord raises it up to $3,200 with A♠J♥. Jake Daniels 3-bets from the small blind holding J♣10♦ to $10,000.
Dwan picks up Q♣10♣ in the big blind and calls as does Rick Salomon with 9♣4♣ from the straddle, James Bord folds. And just like that there is $34,000 in the middle.
3-handed to the action flop of 7♣2♣5♠, which gives both Dwan and Salomon a flush draw. Jake Daniels has whiffed completely, but being the preflop aggressor he decides to make a cbet of $12,500 and both his opponents call. Pot Size: $71,500
The J♠ on the turn is a very interesting card as it makes Daniels the best hand with Top Pair Top Kicker. He consequently fires a second barrel of a little bit less than half pot and Tom and Rick call once again. Pot Size: $170,500
8♣ is the money card for “durrrr” as it gives him and Salomon a flush. Jake checks and Dwan choses to make a rather small value bet of 44% pot, Rick Salomon snap-calls, which indicates that Daniels is beat and he folds.
A big cooler for Rick Salomon and Tom Dwan wins another massive pot worth $320,500.
Jake Daniels bluffs into the flush of Phil Hellmuth: $144,100 Pot
Phil Hellmuth still steaming from hardly winning any money after Doug Polk made the Fold of the Year against him.
James Bord makes a loose raise with 7♣6♥ from UTG+1 to $1,100, Jake Daniels calls right behind him holding K♠J♥ and Phil Hellmuth completes from the big blind holding 7♠4♠. Pot Size: $3,900
Another action flop of 8♠9♠7, which is an extremely draw-heavy and dangerous board. Hellmuth checks, Bord cbets $2,000 and Daniels calls.
When the action is back on Phil Hellmuth, he makes a small check-raise to $5,000 and Bord surprisingly folds bottom pair plus open-ended straight draw, but Daniels calls with a gutshot to the nuts and two overcards. Pot Size: $15,900
Q♠ on the turn and Hellmuth makes his flush. Phil checks, Jake, who has picked up the king-high flush draw bets $7,100 and the Poker Brat insta-calls. Pot Size: $30,100
The 2♥ on the river is an absolute blank and now Phil leads out with a nearly half pot bet of $14,000. This value bet screams: “Please call me”, but Daniels does decide to make a play by making a large 4x raise.
Phil Hellmuth does indeed go into the tank for almost four minutes, before finally making the call, which is obviously the right decision and brings him a nice $144,100 pot.
No way, you can fold a flush here against such a loose and aggressive opponent such as Jake Daniels, who makes a lot of plays and bluffs, but Hellmuth, who plays extremely tight, was close to it.
