Ben Tollerene scooped his first tournament victory in two years last night at the Poker Masters in Vegas, but it was Jim Collopy who was wearing the Purple Jacket at the end of the series.
The final event of the eight- tournament series had the biggest buy-in of all, a $25,200 NLH presented by PokerStars NAPT that attracted 68 entries. The prizepool of $1,700,000 would see 10 players paid.
Very solid turnout for the 2024 Poker Masters $25,000 NL Hold'em finale – 68 entries, $510,000 up top, and a great field.
Looks like Jim Collopy, the current leader for the Purple Jacket, has to fade @Jbex2417, @BWilson9999, @Justin_Zaki, and David Chen.
Tune in tonight to…

Those lucky 10 included Jeremy Ausmus, Michael Brinkenhoff, and Justin Zaki, although all three fell short of the final table. That gave Jim Collopy the overall leaderboard Purple Jacket without a final day sweat, with a $25,000 PGT Passport and a PokerStars NAPT Gold Pass thrown in for good measure.
Ukraine-born Victoria Livschitz was on her third cash of the series but would have to settle for a 7th place to go with her earlier 4th and 10th spots after Taylor von Kriegenbergh’s kicker played.
Filipp Khavin lives in the wonderfully-named Treasure Island in Florida and added some of his own with a 6th place $93,500 cash and was followed to the rail by Aram Zobian who must have been dreaming for a double-up…
Zobian: A♠ A♦
Von Kriegenbergh: K♦ K♣
Until, that is, the flop appeared…
Flop: K♠ 9♣ 7♠
Turn: 3♠
River: J♥
Having not long had his 10s beaten by Von Kriegenbergh’s 9s, Zobian can perhaps feel a bit hard done by with his $127,000 for 5th place.
Sam Soverel is an old hand at the highest stakes but here he had to be content with 4th place after losing out to Andrew “LuckyChewy” Lichtenberger.
That luck wouldn’t hold for Lichtenberger though, all the chips going in on the flop…
Lichtenberger: A♠ A♣
Tollerene: Q♠ Q♥
Flop: K♥ 10♥ 9♠
Turn: Q♣
River: 7♥
Third place and $230,000 for Lichtenberger’s second cash of the series.
Tollerene, a long-time crusher of the online poker scene and boasting more than $16million in live tournament cashes, took a 2:1 lead not heads-up play.
A brief flip of stacks was reversed again by Tollerene, and the final hand saw von Kriegenbergh brick his flush draw…
Lichtenberger: K♦ J♥
Tollerene: A♠ 6♠
Flop: Q♦ 8♦ 3♦
Turn: 5♠
River: 10♥
…and that gave Tollerene the win and the $510,000 top prize.
