Anonymous Player takes down GGMillion$ High Roller for $319,119

While there were some of the biggest names in online poker at the table, top honours at GGPoker’s weekly GGMillion$ High Roller went to the anonymous beast from the United Arab Emirates – “NN28” bagging the $319,119 top prize and their first-ever GGMillion$ win.

Swedish crushers Simon Matsson and Niklas Astedt made it to the final table of the $10k buy-in tournament, the latter likely still counting the $4million he received for his live sphere 3rd spot in the WSOP Main Event.

Also in the mix was New Zealand’s David Yan, number 4 on the GGMillion$ all-time list with 5 titles, 21 final tables, 34 cashes and more than $6million in winnings – just over half his entire GGPoker earnings.

As always, Jeff Gross was in the commentary booth of the GGPoker livestream on YouTube, this week joined by Misha Grigorev, the pair calling the cards with a total of $1,570,000 on the line.

Palamar and Matsson were out early, Sweden’s former world number one online player seeing his pocket deuces hold up until the river, when Haven somehow conjured up a flush in which his 3♥ bettered Matsson’s 2♥

Brazil’s Piekazewicz fell in 7th after losing a race against the only anonymous player at the table, “NN28”, and when Canadian pro Nolet saw his hopes ended when Haven turned a full house, the remaining five were guaranteed six-figure paydays.

Haven’s demise in 5th place was painful… the Dutchman on the button calling Astedt’s big blind 3-bet…

Haven: 8♠ 8♣

Astedt: K♦ 6♥

Flop: 6♦ 5♦ 4♦

The Swede led out and after a bit of thought Haven shoved, Astedt snapping it off with top pair and the second nut flush draw. The turn immediately paid dividends…

Turn: K♣

River: Q♠

…sending Haven to the rail with a $120,615 cash as compensation.

It took more than an hour before our podium trio were known, Alex “Wardska_” Lambert finally running out of luck against “NN28”.

Next to fall was Astedt, who mirrored his 3rd place at the WSOP Main Event, his short-stacked K♥ Q♦ pre-flop shove met by Yan’s A♥ 2♣ which held up.

That left Yan against the anonymous player from the United Arab Emirates, a somewhat unusual location for a top player. That aside, the pair were evenly-matched, a flopped full house doubling up against a turned queen-high flush

The final hand was baffling, however, with Yan bluffing off his title chances on the river with a monster overbet…

Yan: 10♣ J♦

NN28: Q♠ K♠

Flop: K♦ 2♥ 3♣

Turn: Q♣

River: 6♣

With NN28 showing plenty of interest throughout – check-raising the flop and betting the turn – the river check somehow induced a monster overbet of 6.8million into the 2.6million chip pot.

NN28 picked it off fairly rapidly and thus took the $319,119 and GGMillion$ bragging rights, Yan having to settle for a runner-up finish and $250,216.

Final table results

  1. “NN28” (U.A.E.) $319,119
  2. David Yan (New Zealand) $250,216
  3. Niklas Åstedt (Sweden) $196,190
