VIP-Grinders player Andras Nemeth came close to another big score this week, continuing a fantastic run during 2024 so far.
The Hungarian MTT crusher finished 20th in Event #13 $100k PLO Main Event at Triton Montenegro, narrowly missing out on a payday.
Nemeth — AKA “probirs” in the online world — was fighting hard to snatch the top prize of $2.2 million but ran out of luck in an all-in confrontation against Eelis Parssinen from Finland.

The Finn opened with A♦ J♣ T♣ 7♥ from the HJ and Nemeth defended his last 15bb from the big blind with A♥T♥9♠5♥.
With a pot of 170,000 the flop came down 9♥4♠J♥.
Nemeth leads out for 170,000 with his pair and nut flush draw. Parssinen makes the call with top pair and a gutshot.
The turn is the J♦. Nemeth jams his remaining 140,000 and Parssinen snaps him off as an 82% favourite.
The river was the 8♣ and Nemeth headed to the rail.
You can’t win them all, but given the few months that Andras Nemeth is having right now, he will be feeling happy about his performances.
Andras Nemeth Having a Stellar 2024
Back in February, he chopped the GGMasters Overlay Edition for $699,878.84 in a monster field that saw an incredible 66,894 entries.
The event had a $10 million guarantee with $806,081 for the winner. Nemeth made a deal with “SuperNanoX” from China who began the final table as the chip leader.
Then three weeks ago, he narrowly missed out on a final table appearance in the €25,000 EPT High Roller in Monte Carlo, eventually busting in 13th place for a €118,000 score.
And only one week ago, he bagged not one but two SCOOP titles to make it four in total.
Both titles came in the popular PKO format: Event #55-H $1050 7-max PKO and Event #52-H $2100 PLO 6-max PKO with prizes of $47,219 and $58,592 with a further $36,625 in bounties.
