Amir Mozaffarian has won the WSOPE €1,100 NLH Mystery Bounty event for €69,050, denying Shaun Deeb a seventh gold bracelet.
The German defeated a field of 515 players to claim the lion’s share of the €484,100 prize pool and his first WSOP bracelet.
He also impressed onlookers at King’s Casino with his hyper-aggressive playing style as he ripped through the final table, personally sending home four of his seven rivals.
Speaking to the media after his win, Mozaffarian said:
“It feels wonderful, amazing. Having a bracelet is one of the most desired things you can get as a poker player.
“I was really riding the rollercoaster today. My stack was up and down so much, and then I was winning a lot of flips, so I thought, oh, maybe there is something possible today,” he stated as he soaked in his triumph.
“I had a huge chip lead, but the job is never done because Shaun [Deeb] is a really, really good player and is very dangerous. Nothing is safe when you have a chip lead.”
Action Recap
103 players entered the final day with only 78 promised a payday, but there was still €154,500 left in the bounty pool.
Shaun Deeb started his fight for the spoils early on, claiming two bounties in one hand with ace-jack coming out on top.
€900 came out of the bounty box first, but the second was a cool €45,000, more than what third place got paid in the main prize pool.
Romania’s Viorel Gavrila led the way as the final table stage began. His 42 big blinds allowed him to dominate the shorter stacks, although Paco Kaplan and Deeb were chasing him down hard with 30 blinds each.
Yehor Shumeiko headed over to the rail first, after limping into the final nine with only five big blinds to his name, and then the dam burst as the players fell one after another in quick succession.
John Armbrust was eliminated minutes later, and then he was followed out by Zdenek Zizka who found his pocket eights unable to overcome the tens of Lorenzo Arduini.
Mozaffarian then received a gift from above that all winners of poker tournaments need at one time or another.
Opening on the button with A♦ 9♦, he called off his 25 big blind stack when Gavrila jammed from the big blind.
The board ran out K♥ 3♦ J♣ which was safe enough for the Romanian, but a 6♦ turn and 4♦ river saw Mozaffarian hit a miracle flush which would set him up for his run to victory.
Arduini then left the building after a standard flip between jacks and ace-king to leave another bubble of sorts waiting to be burst as there are tickets for the WSOPE Main Event for the top three finishers.
Deeb is always a favourite to go on and finish the job but it wasn’t to be last night. After getting some momentum going he clashed with Mozaffarian and lost a big pot when bet-folding the river. A couple of hands later he was out in fourth.
Mozaffarian then sent Viorel Gavrila packing in the very next hand to enter heads-up play with a four-to-one advantage over Paco Kaplan.
The battle didn’t last very long. The lead increased quickly and Mozaffarian was crowned champion after Mozaffarian jammed his king-six and Kaplan called it all off with queen-five.

Ermanno Di Nicola Wins Bracelet Number Two in €1,650 NLH 6-Max
Ermanno Di Nicola won the €1,650 NL Hold’em 6-Max event, to claim his second bracelet after taking down the €500 Colossus in 2023.
He banked a prize of €111,250 after topping the field of 351 entries and also picked up a handy ticket for the WSOPE Main Event.
Di Nicola pulled off a fantastic comeback after spending most of the event with a stack of less than 20 big blinds before rising to the occasion when the field thinned out.
He entered heads-up play with a three-to-one advantage and never looked back before calling off Na’s jam with pocket kings which held just fine.
