Poker Twitter has gone crazy at the thought of Allen Kessler being a winning tournament player in 2024.
The American is known to be an old-school nit who blinds out in almost every event he plays and has next to no respect for his game from anyone who has even half an idea of how to play.
Now, Josh Arieh is opening a book on whether he can coach him to make a solid profit during 2024.
All you people doubting @AllenKessler , if y’all bet enough, ill bet that he shows a profit in tournament poker in 2024
3 rules
1. I coach him
2. He can get any training
3. He picks his schedulePretty simple….slide in

Arieh stated three simple rules for the wager: he coaches Kessler, allows him to get any form of training out there, and he can choose his own schedule.
Can you teach an old dog new tricks? The consensus seems to be no, in the case of Allen Kessler.
Can Allen Kessler Become a Winning Player Again?
Allen Kessler might have been quite handy back in the day, but it’s become more than obvious that the game has passed him by.
And it’s important to ask, if he takes up Josh Arieh’s offer, if he is really interested or committed to improving his game.
We just can’t see Allen Kessler spending hours poring over GTO solver outputs.
Of course, then the poking fun at him in general started. One poster said:
“How much can I bet that nobody would swap lives with him?”

Some people think it’s a dream to be sat in a casino for 15 hours every day, eating comped food that looks like it was chosen from a menu put together by a seven-year-old. Not most people, however.
Hmm. I travel the world on my own schedule, play what I want, when I want, and I haven’t a care in the world.
I haven’t dealt with the 9-5 drudgery of a “job” in over 20 years.
Nah, who would want that? https://t.co/ZB9u0sUpsW

“I’m extremely tempted to take this on the basis that he reminds me of the guys in the local card room who have been losing for 30+ years and yell at people about the way they play hands”
We look forward to seeing if anyone takes up Josh Arieh’s offer, and hope Allen Kessler is up for the challenge.
