Adrian Mateos and Mario Mosböck Win Big at Triton Jeju

High-stakes crushers Adrian Mateos and Mario Mosböck have taken down two of the early events at Triton Jeju.

The legendary Spaniard charged through Event #5 – $30k – NL Hold’em 8-Handed to bank a seven-figure payday and nose past the $40 million career earnings mark. An incredible display.

Former footballer Mario Mosböck took down his second Triton title in Event #6 – $25k – GG Million$ Live for $1,191,196.  This win brings his Triton earnings up to almost $6 million.

Adrian Mateos Wins Triton Jeju Event #5

This win for Adrian Mateos was, incredibly, his first in the popular high roller series.

Ten cashes and even a $3.1 million score in Monte Carlo last year probably didn’t make up for the lack of a victory in his mind.

But at the weekend he finally broke his duck after blitzing the 185-entry field which was stacked with top-tier talent.

David Peters was runner-up after making a return to Triton after a year away, but we reckon the $790,000 for second place is probably worse than an early exit for a guy with such high standards.

These guys hate it when they come so close to banking a win.

Mario Mosböck is making waves in the high-stakes poker community right now.

The 27-year-old started out in professional life as a footballer in Austria but that obviously wasn’t challenging enough for him.

Now he’s taking on the best that poker has to offer on the most glamorous stages in the game today.
