Viffer says cheating is part of poker, the best just don’t get caught!

High stakes cash game player Viffer has ruffled some feathers in the poker community by claiming that cheating is part of poker and that the best players just don’t get caught!

This obviously isn’t what people wanted to hear, but the idea that being a decent cheat ” used to be a prerequisite to get into poker hall of fame” is going to let a lot of people down.

Viffer then says if any player who was either caught cheating or accused was removed from the Poker Hall of Fame, there would be a lot of empty walls.

Nik Airball took exception with the idea of letting them get away with it, saying if you know and don’t say anything, you’re just as bad as the cheater.

ting, and a lot of people get falsly accused. I think you have to set the bar pretty high to accuse some

Jungleman posted his own take on the matter in his typically idiosyncratic style:

So you want to extend the boundaries of the game, yet you think you can choose where they end. Who is to say the boundaries can’t extend further and who are you to decide where they end? If you or others can choose cheating, equally others can choose further extremes… Without any moral code *everything* is justifiable. So that is why there are rules Fyodor Dostyevsky writes about this and so no, cheating by definition is *not* part of the game.
