Aleksejs Ponakovs ships $25K WSOPC Ultra High Roller for $226K
Aleksejs Ponakovs aka “APonakov” on PokerStars continues to crush online tournaments by taking down the most expensive event of last week with a whopping $25,500 buy-in.
In a star-studded field of 21 players including tournament god Michael Addamo, who became Bubble Boy, Mikita Badziakouski and Pablo “pabritz” Brito and Marius Gierse, the Latvian prevailed to land this massive score.
Only three places were paid and the massive min-cash of $127,042.85 was secured by none other than Artur Martirosian.
Heads-up for the title, Aleksejs Ponakovs defeated Brazilian high stakes reg Rodrigo “seijistar” Sirichuk.
Ramiro Petrone wins PokerStars New Year Series Event #1
Another player, who is currently on fire online is Uruguayan local hero Ramiro “ramastar88” Petrone.
Petrone, was one of 345 entries in the high version of Event #1 of the brand-new PokerStars New Year Series, which was a $530 PKO.
48 places were paid and notables, who made the money included Pedro “gusmaa” Gusma, Jakob “Succeeed” Miegel and Ramiro “ramastar88” Petrone.
The latter not only made it to the final table, but went all the way to victory securing a huge $17,640 in bounties.
One on one Petrone beat “xrenanx182” from Brazil to add another major title to his impressive online tournament results.
