In our Poker Hand of the Week we anaylze the sickest hand of 2022 that paved the way to victory for Daniel Negreanu in the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl VII, when he hits a 1-Outer against Bryn Kenney!
Poker Hand of the Week Setup
We are on Day 1 in the early stages of the 2022 $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl VII at the feature table with poker legends Daniel Negreanu, Bryn Kenney, Mikita Badziakouski, Orpen Kisacikoglu, Stephen Chidwick and Ike Haxton.
The blinds are still low with 1,000/2,000 and a 2,000 Big Blind Ante and DNegs has Bryn slightly covered at the start of our Poker Hand of the Week.
Poker Hand of the Week Action
Preflop:
Bryn Kenney picks up Pocket Aces UTG and raises with A♦A♣ to 5,000. Everybody folds to Negreanu in the Big Blind, who defends with 3♥3♦. Pot Size: 13,000
Flop:
Heads-up to a spicy flop of A♠5♣4♠, which gives Kenney top set and Negreanu a gutshot straight draw. The latter checks and Daniel check-calls his 5,000 continuation bet. Pot Size: 23,000
Turn:
The 3♠ on the turn is the most dangerous card in the deck as it completes the flush draw and gutshot. On top of that, it’s bad news for DNegs, who makes the lower set and decides to lead out for 10,000 (43% pot). Kenney quickly calls and Negreanu has only one out…Pot Size: 43,000
River:
The 3♣ on the river brings the 1-Outer for Negreanu, while Kenney makes Aces Full! DNegs leads for 25,000 and Bryn makes it 105,000 to go with only 97K behind.
Daniel goes All-in and Bryn Kenney doesn’t snap call given the action and realizing that he has the third Nuts. However, you can never fold Aces Full here and he makes the call just to see that Daniel Negreanu has hit a 1-Outer to bust him.
Poker Hand of the Week Analysis
Absolute insane and sick runout! Let’s go through this spectacular hand street for street.
Bryn’s UTG raise is as standard as Daniel’s big blind defend with Pocket Threes and there is not much to say here.
The flop is pretty interesting as Kenney flops Top Set, while DNegs picks up a gutshot. It consequently goes check – cbet – call.
The turn is the sickest card in the deck as it gives Daniel the lower set turning the hand into a Set over Set constellation, while completing flush and gutshot straight draws. That’s also the reason, why Bryn Kenney only calls Negreanu’s bet with Top Set.
It gets even crazier on the river, when another Three appears to give Daniel Runner-Runner Quads and Bryn Aces Full! What a cooler!
Negreanu makes a value bet of 25,000 (58% pot) and Kenney quickly 3-bets to 105,000 leaving himself only 97,000 behind. DNegs quickly announces All-In and even though Bryn realises that this action is top of the range heavy there is no escaping this with Aces Full and extremely favorable pot odds.
So he ends up making the call and is disgusted, when he sees that Daniel Negreanu hit the only two cards on turn and river that could have beat him.
Poker Hand of the Week Conclusion
This is definitely the sickest poker hand 2022! In addition to that, it is also one of the luckiest/unluckiest of all time given from which of both players perspective you view it.
Daniel Negreanu needed two perfect cards and was only 2% to win the hand on the turn, which means if we play this hand 100 times Bryn Kenney wins it 98 times.
There is nothing Bryn Kenney could have done differently and no way you can get away from Aces Full here. It’s just a huge cooler.
