Garrett Adelstein Donates the 135K to Charity – Robbi Says: “I DID NOT CHEAT”

Garrett Adelstein has donated the money he took back from Robbi Jade Lew to charity, while she says she DID NOT CHEAT in her latest interview. The high stakes crusher has been under pressure all week to return it if no evidence of wrongdoing is found but he eventually decided in favour putting it to a good use.

The $135K was sent to Big Brother, Big Sister of Los Angeles, a philanthropic organisation that focuses on mentoring youth. Adelstein himself has acted as a Big Brother for the last six years.

This move was always certain to upset people if it was done before all investigations are complete. And now the complaints are already pouring out onto social media.

Patrick Leonard was one of the first to express surprise that Garrett Adelstein would do such a thing while the poker community is painstakingly going over every detail and Hustler Casino is about to perform its own in-depth investigation.

“Wow this is a huge development. He must think he has some extra inside information”

He says that Adelstein must now be sure that Lew cheated otherwise he wouldn’t have done this. Although, according to some cynical sources, this could be nothing more than a cute tax write-off.

PokerFraudAlert owner Todd Witteles shared the same opinion, stating that the money should either have been handed back or put into escrow.

Todd Witteles added:

It seems the most important thing to you is that she never gets this $135k back.

After appearing on Joey Ingram’s podcast to explain herself, Robbi Lew has now been questioned by poker journalist Chad Holloway in the above video.

During questioning, Lew states emphatically that she did not cheat on Hustler Casino Live and reiterates her story that she misread her hand.

She also clarifies the uncertainty over how the money came to be in Adelstein’s possession, revealing that he asked for it back when she asked him what could be done for him to return to the table.

One piece of news that will have poker fans excited is that a heads-up match between the pair is in the pipeline.

Lew challenged Adelstein the morning after the infamous hand and now it seems this could actually happen.
