Phil Ivey has made a successful return to the 2022 WSOP after a two-year absence. The G.O.A.T chalked up a seventh-place finish in Event #2: $100,000 High Roller Bounty for a $133,127 payday.
Phil Ivey Cashes is back at the World Series of Poker after a two–year absence
Onlookers could clearly see how focussed Phil Ivey was in his return to WSOP action. The American star looks more determined than ever to win his 11th WSOP gold bracelet to become the clear second most successful player in the series.
It’s not just about the WSOP too, because Ivey has been racking up a string of decent results against top-level competition in the Triton Poker Series, recently winning two events in Cyprus.
Now let’s see him prove all his doubters wrong and show that he is as good as he ever was.
Chance Kornuth Leads $100k High Roller Final Table
With Phil Ivey out of the way, the remaining final table participants must have breathed a sigh of relief.
Out of those, the one who must be the happiest is chip leader Chance Kornuth, but he won’t be celebrating too soon as his remaining opponents are no pushovers.
Tournament star David Peters sits in second place with a healthy stack and alleged cheater Ali Imsirovic is just hanging on with 18 big blinds in third place.
Last year’s Main Event winner Koray Aldemir is also still in the mix, albeit with only 9 big blinds.

Doug Polk Calls Ali Imsirovic a Scumbag
The high-stakes cheating scandal isn’t going away anytime soon if poker Twitter is anything to go by. Doug Polk is never one to miss an opportunity to stick the knife in where he feels it’s deserved.

Polk was quick to call Ali Imsirovic a scumbag after he made a contrived attempt to lessen some of the hate fired in his direction by promising to donate 50% of his profits from $25k and under events at the WSOP.
The appearance of Imsirovic is proving controversial after partypoker recently announced that they would be the first festival organisers to implement a cheaters blacklist.
