Another Day, Another Shooting at Legends Poker Room

Another shooting has taken place in the vicinity of the Legends Poker Room in Houston, Texas. This is one of several similar incidents to have taken place in the area in recent months.

On Wednesday morning, a robbery suspect was shot to death outside the Legends Poker Room after an attempted carjacking. The owner of a Corvette fired two or three rounds at the suspect, fearing his life was in danger.

Houston Police Department Detective Jason Campbell told ABC 13:

“That shooter is cooperating with our investigation and he has since been transported down to (HPD headquarters) where he is being interviewed by detectives. That suspect is dead on scene via gunshot wounds,” 

Is it Safe to Play Poker at Legends Poker Room?

Wednesday’s shooting is the third such occurrence to have taken place in or around Legends Poker Room this year.

In January, a security guard was injured while tackling an armed gunman to the ground, suffering a bullet graze to his shoulder.

The culprit marched into Legends Poker Room with an AR-15 assault rifle and declared he was robbing the place.

Trelynn Robinson bravely pounced on the robber, wrestling him to the ground with about a dozen rounds firing off which incredibly didn’t harm any bystanders.

Then in April, another shooting took place inside Legends after a gunman opened fire inside the playing hall, spraying more than 20 rounds which again didn’t harm anybody.

Legends Poker Room has responded to the recent incidents by installing bulletproof panels around the building but, to be fair, the locals didn’t seem put off from coming to play anyway.

The action at Legends Poker Room is supposed to be some of the best in the country and players are determined not to miss out.
