Sensational scenes in High Stakes Poker Season 9 as the biggest HSP winner of all time, Tom Dwan, already gets busted by Daniel Negreanu for the second time and is down a lot. Watch the best hands and biggest pots below!
Lineup of High Stakes Poker Season 9 Episode 3:
WSOP Main Event Champion Koray Aldemir has left the table and play in now 7-handed:
- Phil Ivey
- Tom Dwan
- Daniel Negreanu
- Doyle Brunson
- Patrik Antonius
- Jean-Robert Bellande
- Jonathan Gibbs
Straight vs. Top Pair Good Kicker – JRB vs. DNegs: $104,800 Pot
10♣4♥J♦Q♥K♠
Daniel raises UTG to $1,000 with A♦Q♠ and JRB 3-bets to $4,000 from the small blind holding K♣Q♦. DNegs calls. Pot Size: $8,800
Heads-up to a flop of J♥9♠A♣, which gives Negreanu Top Pair Good Kicker and JRB a gutshot to the Nuts. Since he has 4-bet pre, Bellande bets $4,000 into $8,800 and Daniel just calls. Pot Size: $16,800
The 4♦ on the turn changes nothing and JRB does go for the large second barrel by betting $14,000 into $16,800. This bet is obviously intended to end the hand right here, but Daniel does call.
Bellande binks it on the 10♣ river and elects to make a massive overbet of 3.6x pot. Not a bad play to polarize your hand, since his hand is very well-disguised, however the sizing is very big and gives Daniel Negreanu the chance to escape, which he does by making a good fold. Pot Size: $104,800
Daniel Negreanu Busts Tom Dwan Once Again Durrrr – $272,600 Pot
After Tom Dwan got downed by DNegs in the last episode, the pair once again played the biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 9 Episode 3, this time worth a whopping $272,600.
Patrik Antonius makes a loose UTG raise with 10♠8♠ to $2,000 and Daniel Negreanu gets cheeky by just calling K♠K♥ right behind him.
When the action comes to Tom Dwan in the big blind, he squeezes to $14,000 with A♣J♠. Patrik quickly folds and Daniel comes back over the top to $32,000, Dwan calls. Pot Size: $68,600.
The 10♣4♥J♦ flop spells disaster for Tom Dwan as he flops Top Pair Top Kicker, but still is way behind. “durrrr” checks to the preflop raiser and DNegs makes a smallish 29% pot continuation bet. And it works as Dwan announces All-In, just to get snap-called.
Daniel Negreanu is a big 80% to 20% favourite and they agree to run it twice:
First Runout:
The first runout is 10♣4♥J♦Q♠7♠ , which secured Daniel Negreanu half of the pot.
Second Runout:
The second runout brings 10♣4♥J♦Q♥ and Tom Dwan once again needs to hit one of his four outs to chop the pot, but the 4♣ isn’t one of them.
Daniel Negreanu busts Tom Dwan once again in the biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 9 so far!
