Phil Hellmuth makes poker history

Phil Hellmuth has made poker history once again after improving his own record to a staggering 16 WSOP Bracelets!

After four final tables and a massive Blow Up on the $10,000 Stud Final Table, Hellmuth this time went all the way in the $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw.

It is Phil’s first WSOP bracelet in a 2-7 and his third in a non-Hold’em poker game.

The event was picked up well attracting 272 players, who created a 363,120 prize pool with $84,851 up top.

We saw a star-studded field with Ali Imsirovic, 2013 WSOP Main Event Champion Ryan Riess, Ismael Bojang, Dario Sammartino and Rep Porter all making deep runs.

Phil Hellmuth defeats fellow US pro Jake Schwartz heads-up

After coming close three times at the 2021 WSOP, this time Phil Hellmuth left everyone behind him. Heads-Up Hellmuth came from behind to steal victory from fellow US pro Jake Schwartz.

Phil Hellmuth Wins Record 16th WSOP Bracelet

The victory marks a record sixteenth WSOP bracelet for Phil Hellmuth. In addition to that, the Poker Brat also has an incredible 157 WSOP cashes.

Phil Hellmuth has become a much better overall poker player

Those include four final tables at the 2021 Worlds Series of Poker alone: 6th place in the $25,000 H.O.R.S.E., 5th in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better and 4th in the $10,000 Seven Card Stud.

While Phil Hellmuth made the majority of his cashes in No-Limit Hold’em at the beginning of his career, all four final tables at the 2021 WSOP are in non-hold’em tournaments.

This shows that Phil has worked a lot on the other poker variants and has significantly improved as an overall poker player.

The win will be a big relief for Hellmuth, who has been hunting for his 16th bracelet since 2018, while coming close several times. Phil has reached seven final tables since his last bracelet at the WSOP 2018.

Last but not least, Hellmuth is also a WSOP Main Event Champion. In 1989 he defeated the legendary Johnny Chan to become the youngest Main Event winner in history at the time.
