We have already analysed the crazy All-In bluff by Vladi Chaoulov vs. online cash game legend Trueteller from the $500/$1,000 Texas Hold’em Cash Game at Super High Roller Bowl Europe. In the same cash game he actually bluffed and owned Trueteller a second time and it the hand is not less spectacular!
Poker Hand of the Week Setup
Online poker cash game legends Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov, Dan “Jungleman” Cates and Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski sat down during the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl Europe to play NL$500/$1,000 with the unknown Vladi Chaoulov from Romania taking on the big boys.
The 5-max $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em cash game has just started seven minutes ago and Trueteller and Vladi Chaoulov both still have their $100,000 starting stack at the start of our Poker Hand of the Week.
Poker Hand of the Week Action
Preflop:
Vladi Chaoulov makes a very loose UTG with 8♣4♣ to $3,000. Trueteller picks up A♣Q♠ on the button and makes it $12,000 to go.
Being out of position you would expect a fold here from Vladi, but he makes the call. Pot Size: $30,500
Flop:
Heads-up to a King-high flop of 7♣5♦K♦, which is a great candidate for a cbet and favours the range of the preflop aggressor. However, there are a couple of draws out there and Chaoulov has picked up some equity with the gutshot to the nuts.
Trueteller makes a small continuation bet of $9,000 into $30,500 after being checked to. Suddenly the hand takes an exciting turn, when Vladi Chaoulov min-check-raises to $18,000. Trueteller does come along though. Pot Size: $66,500
Turn:
The 2♠ on the turn is a complete blank and now Vladi leads with a bet of $25,000. Trueteller thinks for more than 20 seconds and then folds his hand.
Vladi Chaoulov outplays the online legend again and gets rewarded with a nice $91,500 Pot for this gutsy bluff with just Eight-high!
Poker Hand of the Week Analysis
Very nice play and read by Vladi Chaoulov! Let’s take an in-depth look at it.
The hand starts with a very loose open from Under The Gun with 84s. Trueteller’s 3-bet in position with AQo in a 5-handed game is absolute standard and he wouldn’t mind taking the hand down right here given that there is almost 10k in the pot, but Chaoulov sticks around.
The flop is very interesting as its King-high board structure is perfectly suited for a continuation bet, which Trueteller does. However, Vladi has picked up some equity with a straight draw and he min-check-raises, which is a great play with a gutshot as it looks very strong and you might win the pot right here and even if not then you always have outs to the Nuts. Trueteller is not convinced though that Ace-high isn’t the best hand anymore and he makes the call.
The turn is as blank as it gets and now Chaoulov bets $25,000. Trueteller probably thinks about playing back at him for 22 seconds, still really doesn’t have much choice but to fold.
Poker Hand of the Week Conclusion
Vladi Chaoulov is the big unknown in this high stakes cash game and he plays his image to perfection in one of the first hands. He knows that the top pros don’t have an idea how he plays yet and how to take advantage of it.
Vladi probably puts Trueteller on a hand such as AQ, AJ or KQs after he has raised from the button and decides that he can take away the pot from him.
I especially like the min-check-raise with the gutshot on the flop, since it often wins the hand without having to invest much plus you always have some outs/equity in case you do get called.
Our Poker Hand of the Week is a perfect example how important your image is in live cash games and how you can use it to your advantage. Well played Vladi Chaoulov!
