Landon Tice has agreed on a prop bet with Bill Perkins that he will win a bracelet at this year’s World Series of Poker. The 22-year-old is still smarting after his loss in their match and clearly wants some form of revenge.
I have a bet with @bp22 to win a Live WSOP Bracelet at 8:1 at my first series.

Landon Tice Risks To Lose Even More Money against Bill Perkins
Tice tweeted confirmation of the prop bet, which immediately led to criticism of his negotiating skills. Poker fans think that he has once again rushed into a challenge with terms that are unfavourable to him after losing the Heads-Up Challenge.
At odds of 8:1 this is almost certainly true. We’ve seen similar troubles from live tournament stars such as Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth. Both are desperate to add to their tally but are finding it tough in this era of poker.
Vanessa Kade tweeted that this kind of bet should be paying at least 20:1 and she rates Tice very highly. Another poster said 25:1, to which Tice quickly replied he’d take 15:1 for whatever amount they liked.

Will Landon Tice Be Playing High Rollers?
Retired tournament pro Max Silver was quick to point out that Landon Tice’s best strategy to achieve his goal is to concentrate on the high roller events.
The smaller tournaments tend to attract many entries which, of course, makes it tougher to dodge all of the bullets. In a high roller it is common for rich individuals with limited poker skill to play on the off chance they can pull of a huge score, and the fields are miniscule comparatively.
I am.

Interestingly, after confirming he will be attacking the bigger buy-in events Tice says that this bet will be all his own money.
“A) these are my terms I accepted B) it’s my money my decision this time. C) I’m winning a bracelet.”
Although the bet itself is only $10,000 the buy-ins will add up to a considerable sum. With only $270,183 racked up in live tournament winnings this certainly looks like the youngster bas bitten off more than he can chew again.
Will the Europeans Be Allowed to Travel to the US?
Dutch poker reporter Frank Op de Woerd pointed out that many a young player has gone into the series full of motivation only to be completely spent after a fortnight.
Let’s not forget that Tice is not a tournament player but also that this will also be his first ever WSOP.
Op de Woerd did mention that the situation regarding travel from Europe will be an important factor. If the WSOP 2021 ends up being an almost exclusively American festival then it will be a lot easier for Tice to achieve his goal. Smaller fields with less seasoned pros to deal with.
