Doug Polk uses huge crypto crash to pick a fight with Luke Schwartz

It appears that Doug Polk’s retirement to the sunny climes of Austin, Texas haven’t mellowed him out completely, the Upswing Poker boss poking the English bear, Luke Schwartz, with a crypto poker stick…

Polk’s trolling of the Englishman, known as “_fullushflush1_” to his many fans, is part of a long-running feud between the pair.

“This guy Doug Polk is a prick!”

It kicked off in 2017 with Schwartz’s “epic rant” on a Poker Life podcast, followed by a PokerNews interview, pictured below, in which he said:

Luke Schwartz

“This guy Doug Polk is a prick! He does anything to get more attention to his stupid little site.”

Previous accusations came from both men that the other had received help during online match-ups – Schwartz linked with Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom and Polk with Jake ‘JLlama’ Abdalla.

We covered those revelations in detail back in 2017, with Schwartz not mincing his words.

“He is clueless in all the fucking games except for No-Limit. I beat him at Triple Draw for $60k and halfway through the session this cunt says: ‘A this is not you on your account, this is Isildur’, try to discredit my name, try to fuck me.”

He added: “Fuck this guy, do you know what, when he beat me at $400/$800 Mixed Games that was not him, that was his Pigeon friend ‘JLlama’.”

Schwartz later called Upswing Poker a “scam” during the interview and called Polk out to play heads-up in Vegas, with Polk responding by calling Schwartz a “troll” and ridiculing his cash game graph in a YouTube video.

“To clarify for new viewers, the graph behind me is not the market cap of cryptocurrency over the last few days. It’s the cash game results of poker player Luke Schwartz over his life on the biggest poker site,” tweeted Polk.

The pair also traded barbed tweets, a sample of Polk’s…

…with Schwartz hinting quite clearly at Polk’s transition from poker into crypto…

…bringing us nicely back to this week’s little spat, with Polk’s tweet about “ETH 7 day chart looking like Luke Schwartz’s PokerStars results” tying in nicely with our recent Bitcoin/poker coverage.

That revolves around Elon Musk costing the crypto poker community a large chunk of money with his own recent Twitter activity.

Polk weighed in on that debate:

“I think what is most disappointing about the recent @elonmusk change of heart, is how incredibly unsophisticated and inaccurate his understanding of cryptocurrency is.”

Box fight or Heads-Up Match between Doug Polk and Luke Schwartz incoming?

Back to swinging at Schwartz and Polk added in his latest prod:

“Can’t believe so many people enjoyed such a niche joke lol”, but the streetwise Londoner was quite happy to trade blows once again with Polk…

Polk’s u wot m8” response was a witty retort, the “Londoner” phrase a response to Schwartz’s attempt at Polk’s accent years previously.

It seems likely that the feuding duo will never actually settle matters the way Polk did with his Grudge Match against Daniel Negreanu, but for Twitter poker fans it’s a bit of fun for a rainy slow-news day.
