Poker-loving rapper “Young Thug” tweeted out his disbelief after losing $800,000 at the casinos in Las Vegas this week, the 29-year-old Georgian looking less than pleased with the massive loss…

“Man, Vegas just won $800,000 from me, man,” bemoaned the number one best-selling hip-hop artist, adding: “I threw liquor everywhere in that motherfucker.”
“Young Thug”, akaJeffrey Lamar Williams, is one of several influential rap singers and songwriters who profess a love for poker and casino games. He can be seen playing poker in Travis Scott’s hit single “Franchise” video, filmed at Michael Jordan’s mansion last year.
The Atlanta-born rapper is also rumoured to play in some highstakes private poker games, although it’s his other favourite game, craps, that appears on his Instagram page…

One unconfirmed story tells how Thug lost a small fortune in a home game, but “fought back to gain back all his cash and then won a $100,000 watch right after that.” Big swings at the tables don’t seem to be an uncommon problem for the father-of-six.
Known as ‘Slime’ in the gambling world, Williams’ was apparently up $100k during his most recent Vegas trip, his fans shocked at the eventual monster loss…
damn he was up $100k at the beginning of the vegas trip 🥶

“Young Thug” is far from the first hip-hop acolyte to show his love for cards and casinos, with Grammy winner Alex Tumay – who has mixed songs for Williams among many other stars – making his WSOP Main Event debut in 2019.
Ok so I did it. I’m playing the @WSOP main event for the first time in my life. I almost chickened out but some friends reminded me that I saved up all year for this and it’s been a dream of mine since I was 15. (If anyone wants to buy some action lemme know 😅) pic.twitter.com/1nmdEIq5VL

Others haven’t fared quite so well on their casino adventures, legendary rap star ‘Flava Flav’ assaulted at South Point Casino in Vegas, the Public Enemy singer receiving “minor injuries”.
Meek Mill, who often hits the casinos with Young Thug” Williams, also had a tough time in Las Vegas, calling out the Cosmopolitan Casino after being refused entry to a concert being held there.
Mill, who was threatened with arrest for trespass if he didn’t leave described the casino as “racist as hell” and took to Twitter to vent his anger.
And I don’t care about that casino I bring in millions every time my name mentioned on a Vegas casino event where I am always welcome … but y’all not gone just treat us like shit and act like it’s normal 🤷🏾♂️ Put some respect on our race “please and thank you”

Yet another hip-hop star, double Grammy award-winner Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. aka “Nelly”, also found himself in a casino confrontation after a fellow player at a Casino Hold’em table annoyed him.
Nelly had been appearing at the del Lago Resort & Casino in Connecticut, though which casino he lost his temper in is unclear.
The Mohegan Sun named in the video said that the footage“does not look to be” from their casino. The del Lago told press:”we can confirm that the video was not shot at del Lago Resort & Casino.”
Although as far from a rap star as is possible to imagine, Phil ‘Poker Brat’ Hellmuth made an appearance in the Ludacris video for his 2010 hit song ‘Sex Room’…
…while a number of poker players have tried their hand at rapping, Prahlad Friedmann perhaps the best-known among them…
