Rick Salomon vs. Bryn Kenney: $868,200 Pot
We kick things off with the biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 8 so far between Rick Salomon and the Number 1 in the All Time Money List Bryn Kenney:

You can see the hand above until the river, where we pick things up. Rick Salomon had raised preflop and bet the flop, when he flopped an open-ended straight draw as well as the turn, when he made his straight.
Bryn had flopped middle set, but can’t like the turn as it puts four cards to a straight on the board, so he just calls. Salomon has Kenney covered. Pot Size: $219,200.
Although, the river brings the A♠ it doesn’t really change much, since Bryn needed the board to pair. He consequently checks and Rick goes for the overbet shove and sets Bryn All-in, who has $324K behind.
Bryn Kenney visibly doesn’t like it as there is a four-card-straight and a potential flush draw out there. Nevertheless, Rick Salomon has the reputation of being very loose and aggressive, which means he is certainly capable of bluffing here.
Bryn goes into the tank and after 20 seconds announces “Call” just to hear the bad news from Rick “Got a straight”. The biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 8 worth $868,200 goes to Rick Salomon.
Bryn Kenney vs. Tom Dwan: $145,800
In one of the first hands of episode 2 a very interesting hand develops between the two high stakes crushers Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Bryn Kenney.
Tom Dwan attacks the $1,600 straddle of Rick Salomon by making a loose button raise with 6♥2♥ and gets four callers. One of them being Bryn Kenney with 5♥3♥ and just like that there are $25,800 in the pot before the flop is even dealt.
They are going 5-handed to a flop of 2♣9♠4♥, which gives Dwan bottom pair and Kenney an open-ended straight draw. Being the preflop aggressor, Tom fires a $18,800 continuation bet and only Bryn check-calls. Pot Size: $61,800
The 6♠ is a super interesting card as it completes Bryn Kenney’s straight, while Tom Dwan makes Two Pair. Bryn checks over to “durrrr”, who bets 2/3 pot. Bryn could definitely check-raise here, but his straight is well-disguised and he wants to keep Dwan in the pot in case he has a decent hand or is bluffing, so he just calls with the nuts. Pot Size: $145,800
The problem about calling is that if a spade or a tre comes off it is going to kill his action and that is exactly what happens, when the 3♠ show up.
Now Kenney has to be afraid of the flush and if he bets and gets raised, then he is in a difficult spot, so he checks a third time and Dwan, who doesn’t like this card either, checks behind. Bryn Kenney wins a $145,800 Pot, but could have gotten much more value, if he would have raised the flop or turn instead of trapping.
Rick Salomon rivers Quads vs. Tom Dwan’s Top Full House: $203,000 Pot
The last hand of High Stakes Poker Season 8 Episode 2 was probably the most interesting one as cash game legends Tom Dwan and Rick Salomon clashed in a massive cooler situation.
Rick Salomon raises UTG with 10♠9♠ after a straddle to $5,000 and Tom Dwan and Jean-Robert Bellande both pick up A-Q. Dwan 3-bets to $16,400 and both players call. Pot Size: $56,000
The flop 10♦Q♦10♥ is an absolute dream for Salomon, who flops trips, and puts both Dwan and Bellande with Top Pair Top Kicker in a very tough spot. Tom Dwan makes a rather small cbet of $21,000 into $56,000, JRB calls and Salomon check-raises to $63,000. Tom calls and JRB makes a good laydown. Pot Size: $203,000
The 2♦ on the turn completes the flush draw and Rick now checks. Tom checks behind. Pot Size: $203,000
The 10♣ on the river is a very spicy and dangerous card for Tom Dwan as it makes him top full house, but gives Rick Salomon Quads! The latter quickly checks over to Dwan, who goes deep into the tank contemplating a value bet. However, it is very likely that Salomon also has a queen or even the occasional Quads.
Dwan makes a great check-behind and dodges a big bullet. Salomon collects another sizeable pot and is by far the biggest winner of High Stakes Poker Season 8 so far.
